America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

Everyone here is so amazing. They made my 17 year old daughter very comfortable. Dr. Smith was really kind and explained everything very clearly and went out of his way to give us to make sure my daughter would be seen by a specialist in a timely manner. Sheila was absolutely fantastic. She was fun and kind and helped my daughter find glasses that she loves (which is hard to do for a 17 year old)! If you need glasses or contacts I would recommend the America's Best in Valpo

Dr. Mitchell Smith consistently provides exceptional service, as I have experienced over the past three years. Mt experience with Dr. has consistently been outstanding. Sheila, who assisted me after my appointment with Dr. Smith, was particularly helpful. She efficiently processed my contact lens order and, despite my not purchasing glasses on that day, still took the time to help me select a flattering pair. Furthermore, Sheila provided a price check for the glasses and lenses I would required, and she put the information of the frames in the memo for me. The team demonstrated remarkable efficiency and punctuality. The overall experience at America's Best, facilitated by both Dr. Smith was awesome, and Sheila was for very helpful and a delight to work with!

I had to come here and talk about the receptionist (?...I think thats her position), Susan! (She is who gets my 5 stars!) She is ALWAYS smiling and so happy to help with anything I need! I know I can be so obnoxious with all my questions and quirky requests, but she always seems so happy to help, is always smiling and even makes me laugh! She definitely brightens my day when I see her during my visits! Every business needs one or 10 of her! She seems to really love her job, and that is so uncommon anymore! You'll definitely leave happier than you came if you run Into her!

I'll tell you about my experience at America's Best in Valparaiso. I was so excited to get my eye exam here, because America's Best now sells the Pair Eyewear, which I ordered online 3 years ago. I love my Wanda frames and all the cool toppers! Docter Mitchell Smith took great care of me and I had a very thorough eye exam...really he was top notch! The Wandas I ordered 3 years ago are now scratchy and I needed new lenses and frames. Now we get to the trying on part and Sue is on the computer putting all the data in on my order. All of a sudden she has this sad long on her face and she tells me, "I'm so sorry but your prescription doesn't allow us to order the Pair Eyewear for you." I'm like what are you talking about? She says, they get like a red flag that says you cannot order for this person, when their prescription is too strong. I know I'm blind and all, but I was just devastated! I told her, "this is why I came to America's Best just for the Pair Eyewear!" You could tell Sue was feeling really bad about now. Sue told me "I can't get them from here either, I have to order from Pair Eyewear directly myself." Anyway I went home really bummed. I decided to call America's Best and ask again to explain to me why I couldn't order my glasses their and they were very kind and explained again and then this time I talked to Shannon and she told me if you can come back in I will get the segment hight and will take pictures and make sure you have everything that you need to order them online. I went back in on Saturday and Shannon was very helpful and made sure I have everything I need, she also said I could come in anytime with my new glasses and they would make adjustments or repairs if needed. I really wanted them from America's Best because I want to make sure I don't have issues with scratches again. I have never had that problem with any pair of glasses before. Anyway the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I couldn't get my glasses there, although they were so kind and helpful and it's not really their fault. So Anyway, thank you Docter Smith, Sue and Shannon! Very much appreciated!

I ordered glasses on 4/15. Was told 5-7 business days. I called on 4/23 to check status exactly one week later & they had trouble finding me bc they put my name as my street address. They fixed it, or so we thought. I Was then told they will be in on 4/24. I called that day ahead & the lady was shitty with me & said they won’t be in until the following Monday on 4/27, that she didn’t know who told me that & that her manifest shows monday. I then waited until Tuesday to avoid conflict and was put on hold for over 30 minutes before I finally hung up. I called today & The lady was pleasant but couldn’t find my glasses bc they were still under my street address?? & they did in fact come in on 4/24. I’ve honestly never seen such disorganization from a glasses supplier before. If I knew that no one ever knows what’s going on & they were going to be shitty w me for their mistake and make me wait 2 full weeks for a pair of standard eyeglasses that were there the whole time, I never would have came here & I never will again. Go literally, anywhere else. Lol
