My husband and I were visiting San Antonio from Austin for the long weekend and realized we had forgotten his contact lenses. We stopped by this office on Saturday morning hoping for a little help, and the team went above and beyond for us. They provided free trial lenses (per my husband’s last prescription) along with a case and solution container, which completely saved our entire trip. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring from the moment we walked in. It’s rare to find people who are this thoughtful and willing to help without hesitation. You can tell they truly care about their patients and the community. We’re so grateful for their generosity and professionalism. Highly recommend this office to anyone looking for exceptional care and wonderful people. We will both choose them for eye exams and glasses if we move to SA later.

Had a lovely experience there for both my appointment and my younger daughter. Sarah was very helpful in making my daughter feel comfortable, and even offered her stickers. The doctor who we saw was also very detailed in explaining what she saw and what she recommends. Will definitely continue care here in the future.
From beginning to end, my experience at this location has been outstanding. The staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and well-versed in maximizing your vision insurance benefits to help you get the best value on your glasses. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for exceptional service and a great experience.
I was in desperate need of some glasses and this place was wonderful! The staff, particularly the woman named Celeste was terrific in making me feel truly understood and welcomed when picking out my new glasses. I did however notice on of the older employees, I believe her name was Rosann, was awfully rude to those she was supposed to be "helping". Her attitude was appalling to watch frankly, and I was lucky not to have gotten her to help me with my own glasses... At one point her voice was almost to yelling volume as she told a customer "we are NOT liable if these glasses break", i felt bad for the poor man since he flinched at the tone.. Americas Best needs to have Americas Best employees, and the way she was acting was nothing of the sort. Celeste, as well as the other staff that day, were perfect examples of customer services.. cannot say the same about that older woman..
I had a very disappointing experience at this location. When I checked in for my children’s eye exams, I was told that the eye exam was covered by my insurance. I specifically explained that I wanted to make sure the exam was covered before proceeding. At the end of the visit, Vivian told me I needed to pay $80 because my deductible had not been met. I explained that I had already been told the eye exam was covered. Vivian then went to speak with the employee who originally gave me that information. I could hear the employee tell Vivian that the eye exam was covered and that we would only be responsible for a percentage of the frames. However, when Vivian came back, she again told me that the eye exam was not covered and that I needed to pay $80. I explained that I had just heard the other employee tell her that the exam was covered, but she still continued trying to collect the $80. Eventually, another employee came over and confirmed that the eye exam was covered and explained that the insurance information needed to be entered manually. I was then told that I might receive a bill later if the insurance company did not cover it. I understand how insurance works because Im Certified in Medical Administration and Billing & Coding for 10 years. The way this situation was handled made me concerned that I could have easily been charged the $80 if I did not understand my insurance coverage or question the charge. Another customer who isn't familiar with their insurance benefits might have simply paid the $80. Based on my experience, Vivian appeared to be unfamiliar with how insurance coverage, copays, and deductibles work, as she repeatedly attempted to charge me $80 for a service that was ultimately confirmed to be covered. If there was uncertainty about my insurance coverage, it should have been verified before attempting to collect $80 from me. Customers should receive accurate and consistent information about their insurance benefits and what they are actually responsible for paying. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning to this location. I hope management reviews what happened and provides additional training on insurance verification, covered services, copays, and deductibles so other customers do not have the same experience.
