I've taken my grandmother and children to AB on separate occasions and have not had a single issue. My mom goes there and is hassled by Hector, who says that he is helping, but is hovering over my mother while clicking a pen, while she is looking for frames. Then, he attempts to bill her for $400+ for addons that she didn't ask for, and charge her regular price for discounted frames. Once the price was adjusted to what my mom thought was more reasonable for what she needed, it had to be adjusted even more to under $200. Had my mom gone off, she would've been made to look like the bad person. DO NOT TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OLDER CUSTOMERS BY UPSELLING WHAT THEY DO NOT NEED OR PROVOKE THEM TO ANGER WITH ANTAGONISTIC PRACTICES. Check your billing statements. You might think you were being helped but instead was just had. ***UPDATE*** Clara has advised to try one of the other locations, instead of reassuring that this doesn't happen again. This could be nothing more than a coaching issue. Now, it may have to escalate to corporate or further. I wonder how many other customers have had similar experiencss with price changing, especially on seniors, and acting as if it was a mistake, hovering over customers who are shopping for eye glasses as if they are being rushed into purchases.

A good experience should always be recognized. I switched my insurance and we couldn’t figure out if covered so I decided to pay cash. Hector was very patient and helpful and with the help of Clara they got me a great price. The experience was just excellent . I will continue my business with AB for a long long time. Thanks all.
It was a great experience, the front desk lady that showed me the section to pick my frames was really supportive and kind frl, then waiting for the appointment didn’t take long at all. What really makes me love this place is that I brought my old glasses in (they were bad) and after explaining to the doctor that they strain my eyes bad she figured out that the prescription was too strong, mind you I was scared of getting glasses again thinking that the same thing would happen, crazy thing is it didn’t and my eyes don’t feel strained my glasses are perfect and I just love the thought of being afraid something will repeat only for it to not because there’s someone that KNOWS what they’re doing, and now I wear my glasses everyday, get yall 2 pairs for 95 and a free eye exam😛.
I have very poor vision and I get very self-conscious about it. I’ve had bad experiences in the past going to several different places. I was so embarrassed and insecure about going to get my eyes checked that I hadn’t been in years. I finally had no choice, but to go get my eye exam in order to get a refill on my prescription contacts. And boy I am so grateful I chose this location. The ENTIRE team was absolutely incredible. Everyone made me feel so comfortable. I didn’t feel embarrassed or self-conscious the entire time. Dr. Fertel was so incredibly nice and willing to explain everything to me at a level I understood. This was the very first eye exam in my 31 years that I left in a great mood and feeling good about myself. I definitely will be using them for all of my future visits. I cannot recommend this team more!
I had a terrible experience at America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses. Clara, the office manager, is extremely unprofessional and rude, with absolutely no bedside manner. From the beginning, I was misled about insurance. I specifically asked if they accepted VSP and was told yes, only to later find out they are NOT in network. After my exam, I had to pay out of pocket for contacts and glasses. On top of that, the contacts I was prescribed do NOT fit properly—they are dry and very uncomfortable. When I explained this and asked to see the doctor, they scheduled me for a follow-up. But when I arrived, I was told I would have to complete an entirely new eye exam, even though my prescription hasn’t expired. I asked to speak directly with the doctor, and Clara refused to allow it. That was very frustrating and unprofessional. This place is not worth your time or money. I felt taken advantage of and completely dismissed as a patient. I would not recommend this location to anyone unless you want a horrible experience.
