Reading the reviews first, I was a bit nervous. Everyone experience, doesn't mean it'll be your experience, the entire staff was nice and made my friend and I feel welcomed. The doctor, she is amazing😀 We really enjoyed our visit today

What has happened to Basden eyecare? I have been going here for almost 20 years, but in the last year or so it's gone down hill. The doctors (Pate and Basden) are amazing. However, the reception staff is rude and lacks customer service ability. And unfortunately, the public is primarily dealing with that staff so you may want to make some changes. I've always given Basden 5 stars, because it felt like you were being treated by people who truly cared. However, the front desk staff and administration is quickly eliminating that feeling.
Dr. Pate is FANTASTIC! The tech who does all the diagnostic work before seeing the doctor is also sooooo wonderful. I have had two bad experiences back to back with front desk staff. They just seem completely bothered by your existence when you walk in. They aren’t outright rude but very cold and give sub par customer service. It makes me not even want to go to this office anymore. It’s even more sad that my very first trip to this office, they were super nice! The one time I had interactions with the Dean Road front office staff, they were much more accommodating and pleasant.
This is my only time writing a review for anything ever. The doctors here are incredible (and the first lady you see when you get taken back is an absolute sweetie), but I haven't been able to get glasses here in two years because of how mean the woman who has you try on frames is! I was anxious the moment she walked out and found me, like a prey animal in imminent danger. At my appointment the other day, she even encouraged that I leave instead of buying glasses, which I did, because that's what I wanted to do anyway. Why do I have to hype myself up before going to the eye doctor? Why am I more scared of my optician than I was of my middle school bullies? If she is reading this, I hope it's her sign to take up a career in debt collecting or prison guarding instead. Please leave me alone i just want glasses!!!😢😢😢😢
I give the phone receptionist the PROCRASTINATION AWARD of the year, I was on hold 15 minutes only to be told they can’t access my account without me coming back in to visit again less than 24 hours after my appointment. Price gouging and discrimination are two prescriptions you definitely will have once you reach the area to pick frames and measurements. I was advised by my insurance company to seek services elsewhere after they were given the same treatment and they priced my quote totally SMALLER than what they told me I had to pay upfront. Please call your insurance company prior to visiting this location.
