Wonderful experience. Each staff member was kind, knowledgeable, and patient. They explained each procedure telling me precisely what they needed and how I could respond. Dr. Ray was very explicit in outlining the reasons for and the next steps in completing the surgery. I left the office feeling confident and prepared for upcoming surgery.

I’ve been to the Foley location a few days ago as a new patient. The first thing I noticed was that everybody that sits in the lobby is not friendly. They look at you as if you’re from a different planet even that you have an appointment and you’re there on time. The young woman I worked with that actually sat down with me to do all the measurements and also Doctor Kidd they were both super friendly, no doubt. My contact prescription was changed slightly and I was send home with two boxes of contacts. When I was home and I live like 15 minutes from the eye doctor I noticed that both boxes were expired for five months already so I gave them a call and they said they would order new ones and they would let me know when I can pick them up. A few days later they called me and a couple days after that I actually picked up the trial lenses. And again everybody that I dealt with in the lobby was so rude. I don’t think they really like their job. They don’t give you a smile they barely say good morning or greet you in anyway so it’s really unbelievable. So I picked up my contacts and put them in at home and realized really fast that for my right eye the prescription is too strong. I do not blame the doctor for that at all so I gave them a call to ask them to make this change and the first thing I came across was a male AI that was so realistic that I actually had to ask is this a human or is it AI ….it even had background noise that made it really sound realistic. I find that totally freaky. When I asked “it” it confirmed that it is not a human and connected me then to a waiting line. Several minutes later, someone answered the phone and there wasn’t this lovely sweet Southern good morning how are you? How can I help you? My name is so-and-so no such thing again so rude and I really don’t think people like their job there. After I explain to that individual what I’m calling about, she connected me with someone else and then the exact same thing. These people are just not friendly. They should not answer the phone or sit as a first contact with a patient in the lobby. They need a retraining for sure. Needless to say, I had to explain to the second person all the things I had already explained to the first person and then I was told well I don’t know it’s probably till next week that we can get you this prescription. I said listen I had an appointment here. I had to come back again because you gave me expired trial lenses now it turns out they are not correct. I cannot accept that all of this take so long. It should not be so difficult to make a change to a prescription based on what the patient says and based on the prescription she had last year just from a different doctor. I am very disappointed in this place so I might pick another one for next year. I have yet to hear back from them after I had to leave a voicemail for the Fairhope location because the doctor apparently is there today which is fine but I’m curious to see when and if somebody will call me back.

Wait time too long. I was not taken back to a room for an hour. Kaylee did my eye testing. She’s very good. Another wait to see Dr Kidd. Really love Dr Kidd and Kaylee, just need to work on schedule times! Total time in the office: 2 hours! 😳

SUMMER seems to be the only one who can make anything happen here. I went in person to address the issue detailed below and As Usual she was able to correct the matter in ten minutes flat with ease. But the tech i talked to about them on two seperate occasions who assured me both times that they were ordered - did not order them. She provided a confirmation of the order and another copy of my prescription. I will be sure not to leave without the confirmation paper if there is a next time. This is beginning to seem quite the unneccessary hassle just to Pick Up contacts. You guys should take good care of Summer because if she leaves i'm probably not coming back. Note how the "solution" offered is to Call but the number listed online is just a dead end. Again this is nothing against the staff themselves but the communication is severely lacking - and i want what i've paid for when i've purchased something or even just been promised it. —————————————————————— The staff are always great and the visit went fine . . . But i have waited over a Month for a TRIAL pair of contacts to come in. I can't order new ones until i test those out because the prescription has changed and so i'm stuck with this five year old glasses prescription. I have to drive back and forth to work with these and it is Dangerous in this heavy traffic. They won't answer the dang phone no matter how many times you call, it plays a series of long automated messages and sends you straight to voice mail. Definitely do not order over the phone, they completely forgot to ever put my order in. I had to go in person.

I love Dr. Ray’s sense of humor. He is very personable and easy to talk to. I remember that the first time I met him 2 years ago, it was all business and very little warmth. But as we have gotten to know each other he is much more relaxed in his approach. It’s easy to ask him questions about my conditions. He’s cool.
