I love the doctor here who is knowledgable and competent. However I was having some dry eyes and needed to be seen and the office staff claimed they could not locate my BCBS health insurance and I was not covered. I provided the card and information and they still had issues with their system and charged me $80 to be seen and evaluated for dry eyes and told me that I could follow up with my insurance on the claim. As someone who is in healthcare this is very frustrating and not patient centric. I checked with my insurance who verified this should be covered. The office staff claimed I was not in-network however I have a PPO I am in network with everyone. But this was very upsetting and as much as I value this provider and her skill I am not sure I will be returning due to lack of knowledge and customer centric skills of the office staff and their incompetence. it is almost as if they did not care and did not do the work that was needed to verify and check my insurance. Dr. Johnson however is amazing and awesome Optometrist. The front staff however blew me with their rationale for Not being able to find me in the Blue Cross Blue Shield system.
