Dr. Melissa Schultz is truly exceptional. After my third corneal transplant in my right eye, I was referred to her for scleral contact lenses, and I cannot say enough about the care, expertise, and patience she showed throughout the entire process. Scleral lenses are not simple to prescribe, especially when your patient has the added condition of extremely dry eyes. Dr. Schultz took the time to ensure the fit was precise and comfortable. She was incredibly knowledgeable about post-transplant eyes and never made me feel rushed or dismissed. Her attention to detail and commitment to getting things right made a world of difference for both my vision and my confidence, and most of all my peace of mind for my future. Thanks to Dr. Schultz, my vision has improved significantly after a very long and difficult journey. If you have complex corneal issues I highly recommend seeing her. She is compassionate, thorough, and truly dedicated to her patients. In addition, Dr. Schultz has an assistant, Kari, who was also instrumental in my care and should be applauded. I am extremely grateful to be under the care of Dr. Schultz and her staff.

I spoke with Jo the receptionist who was fantastic at accommodating all of my Unique requests. She was so thorough double checking everything and making sure that before I even got to my first appointment that I am ready and prepared. I really appreciate her kindness and I can’t wait to meet Jo in-person for my first appointment in the coming weeks.

Since going to Birmingham Vision many years ago I’ve had nothing but very positive experiences with them. Dr. Ellery Isaak is a wonderful professional who has the perfect Doctor ‘chair-side’ manner. I highly highly recommend Birmingham Vision!!

Dr. Poma is wonderful! My daughters, husband, and I see her. My oldest daughter did vision therapy and it made a world of a difference! I never would have guessed she could benefit from it because she does not need glasses. She worked with Lauren and the difference I saw in her attention span, mood regulation, reading, and balance was incredible. I ended up doing vision therapy also and I can focus so much better now. Both Lauren and Tara are wonderful and make it fun. I highly recommend Birmingham Vision Care and vision therapy.

Just had a great visit for my 14 yo son after he failed the standard vision check at his yearly check up. The staff was great, very friendly. My son was nervous about maybe needing glasses and Dr Poma did extensive testing and communicated clearly to me and my son. She explained multiple treatment options and helped us choose what was best for my son.
