I have been a patient of Dr. Powers for about 20 years. He is always upbeat, kind and through. Dr. Powers keeps you informed every step of the way and has a great selection of stylish eyewear. I highly recommend him for you and your family's eye care.
After moving to Petoskey in August 2018, I asked my coworker for an eye doctor recommendation. According to her, Dr. Powers was the best - and she was right. My entire life I had always gone to a very quiet optometrist who made me feel awkward and nervous (and apparently I had never received some of the regular tests for eye health either). Dr. Powers is the total opposite: he's very funny and social, and he knows how to make you comfortable. He's smart, conscientious, and always listens and I believe truly wants the best outcome for his patients. And he's incredibly efficient with what he does! The other staff and receptionists are great - friendly and on top of things. They get you in and out of there as fast as they can, even with proper spacing/sanitation during COVID. They let me get trial pairs if I run out of contacts before my next appointment, which is amazing. They really know their customer base and that vision care is expensive. I've been going there for 4 years now without insurance and I don't expect that to change. Thank you for great service and for making eye appointments actually enjoyable!
I was on vacation in Petoskey and realized I had forgotten my replacement contact lenses. I went to Dr. Powers’ clinic to see if they could help me out. The receptionist was so very nice. After having my prescription faxed to them, they gave me a sample contact to use for the rest of the week. Vacation saved! Thank you!
Absolutely amazing, takes great care of me and my eyes. He knows how to work with insurance too! Been going here since I was a kid and I don’t think I could ever bring myself to go anywhere else.
When we moved to Northern Michigan in 1983 we started going to this office. At that time Dr John Degroot was the only doctor and we loved him. Since Dr Degroot retired we now see Dr Powers who we also love! Very thorough and kind! Will never go anywhere else!
