We took our 7-month-old baby to CHOP Specialty Care, Exton for an ENT evaluation due to breathing concerns and snoring. Since he was born prematurely at 32 weeks, we wanted to make sure everything was okay. Our visit with Lisa Elden, MD was overall very good. She was thorough in examining his nose, ears, and throat, and took the time to explain her findings in a way that was easy to understand. It was a big relief to hear that everything looked normal. The staff was friendly and handled our baby gently, which we appreciated. The clinic itself was clean and well-organized for pediatric care. The only drawback was the wait time, which felt a little long, especially with an infant. That said, the quality of care and reassurance we received made the visit worthwhile. Overall, a solid experience, and we would recommend this location to other parents looking for specialized ENT care for their children.

I think I am going to phase my child out of CHOP all together. Chop has become money hungry and they can care less about the children, they take the laziest approach to care I have ever seen. They try to make you feel stupid for wanting answers about things going on with your kid. I’m not sure if its a lack of care, a lack of adequate training, or a lack of quality medical education but either way its despicable. I called the office for a neurology appointment and they kept asking over and over what I was coming in for and I must have said the same things at least 3 times. The woman I spoke with on the phone was rude and told me “i don’t think we handle that here” since when doesn’t a neurologist handle brain imaging as it relates to hearing processing (not to be confused with hearing impairment). She proceeds to give me a hard time about scheduling an appointment to the point where I had to ask for the office manager and then she left me on hold and never came back to the phone. I hung up and called back and got someone else and she stated the previous girl said the call disconnected. I quickly corrected her because the call did not disconnect I hung up and called back because she left me on hold because I asked to speak to a manager. This office is clearly unprofessional and I don’t want to take my son her anymore just based on the way they treated me over the phone. Chop is becoming so terrible!
This place operates like a free clinic and is complete chaos! How is it I didn't see a doctor until almost 2 hours later?! -The check in receptionists were nice but they mixed up my paperwork somehow (made excuses) resulting in me being seen after people who arrived a half hour after me -apparently running late is "normal." -50minute lobby waiting time -once in the back I waited another 50minutes to see the actual doctor -the room wasn't cleaned beforehand. where was the paper for the dirty bed? -why does your chair look like this? absolutely falling apart! -The doctor skimmed my chart carelessly resulting in him saying the wrong information. no way I can't trust them with my care. -during our literal 5-minute session I understood the doctor wasn't good at the possible task at hand (vague for privacy reasons) - Checkout was ridiculous! somehow, she forgot she was checkout. - I couldn't get a printout of my extended staycation because the doctor didn't "write it up" ALSO, it would've been nice of you to tell me to have a nice day as well. -unsanitary rooms - unsanitary bathroom You should be embarrassed! what if The Joint Commision showed up? don't you care if you're shut down?
CHOP is the best hospital and physician network in America (and therefore the whole world) for children. They were checking on our third son's heart, and they were so kind, respectful, helpful, and honest. I wouldn't recommend any other physician or hospital for your children. If you want the best care for kids, you want CHOP.
Insane bill! A 10 minute visit and according to the doc's own words, "a very common issue" turned out to be a $500 bill even after insurance in-network discounts! No procedure was done, only some simple advice given. This costs more than anything I've ever seen in a simple visit! Editing to add I reached out to the feedback office at CHOP. They "reviewed" the visit and billing code (New patient visit 30-44 minutes- CPT 99203) and told me everything is billed correctly. LOL Nothing about billing us 30-44 minutes when our visit should have been 99202 which is for shorter visits. Instead they tried to lecture me about my insurance deductibles. "The bill wouldn't be as high if you had a lower deductible". Insurance deductible has nothing to do with how much you are billing at all in the first place?! What about people without insurance? It's straight up ripping off families. $100 to even $200 is reasonable, I checked my insurance website and that seems to be the going rate for these visits. $500? No way
