I left my appointment at Cohen’s Optical feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated. I was quoted $699 for a pair of Miu Miu frames, which appeared to be significantly higher than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. When I questioned the pricing, I did not receive a clear explanation for the difference. What made the experience even more concerning was how my insurance benefits were handled. My UFT GVS vision insurance has been attempting to contact Cohen’s Optical multiple times to verify the charges, but has been unable to obtain the necessary information. The itemized invoice I was provided listed a unit price of $476, while I was charged $699 for the frames. Because the invoice did not reflect the actual selling price, my insurance company has been unable to verify the charge or determine whether my benefits and pricing were applied correctly. Due to these concerns, my insurance company has escalated my case for further review. I hope they take a close look at this matter and reconsider their relationship with Cohen’s Optical if they determine these pricing and billing practices are affecting other members as well. As someone with vision insurance, I expected complete transparency regarding the retail price of the frames, how my insurance benefits were applied, and a detailed breakdown of my out-of-pocket costs. Instead, I was left with more questions than answers. I would strongly encourage anyone purchasing designer eyewear here to compare prices with other authorized retailers, verify the manufacturer’s retail price beforehand, and request an itemized invoice that reflects the actual selling price, not just the unit cost. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Cohen’s Optical due to the lack of pricing transparency, the difficulty my insurance company has had obtaining clarification, and the overall handling of my insurance benefits.

The service at Cohen Optical Bay Plaza was top tier. The ladies at the front Delvia, Irene and Madeline were extremely helpful and made my experience amazing. Due to their amazing customer service, I will continue to come to this location. They always work full of life and with a smile. Thank you ladies!!!!
I ordered a pair of glasses about three weeks ago. I was told they would be ready yesterday. I am currently on the phone, on hold for over THIRTY MINUTES. I uploaded a picture to show the number of times I've called. This is the third time I've called to see about my glasses. I don't even want a manager to make it "right" at this point. I want the glasses I paid for. I will be reporting them when this is all said and done. Ending this message with now 40 minutes on hold. **Called the store back after hanging up and asked to speak to the manager.... guess what happened? Yes, no one picked up.
This place is very ghetto ! First of all they give Appointment for 2 o’clock they ask you to sign in . While later they call in to the exam than they ask you have a sit till they call you back it’s now 3:30 they don’t info wether or not the doctor is in or not. So you wait patiently. Than you go back to the front deck where there chatting so I ask where the doctor , or he’s here with a patient. But they never had the Courtesy to let us know, she came back in and we still waiting 3:23 I would not recommend this place on Baychester to anyone.
Sandra was such a pleasure to work with. I spoke to her over the phone at first , then meeting her in person was the icing on the cake ! super professional , all smiles and provides the kind of customer service every customer needs. It was my first time visiting this location and she made the whole process smooth. I will definitely be back she’s beautiful on the inside and outside ♥️ so happy with my new glasses !!
