I had a routine eye exam and I would say Dr. Nayar is pretty much in line with exams I've had by others, seems to be a good eye doctor. Here's my issue: he also sees my wife, saw her last year in July, and said he wouldn't need to see her again for 3 years as she basically has 20/20 with a little fuzziness on reading from computer strain. He wrote her a prescription which amounts to bifocals with nothing on one, then readers/cheaters for the other, commented that he had the exact same glasses prescription. My wife's father became ill and passed away this past year so she was finally able to try to fill her prescription last week, about 1 year and 10 days after it had been issued - but she's good for 3 years, right? However, the eye glasses place didn't want to take it, so I asked Columbus Eye to extend her prescription for 1 month so she could get the glasses. They refused and said another eye exam would be needed in spite of the 3 year period provided by Dr. Nayar. Funny because in spite of telling the office my wife's father had died, the staff member didn't even offer the standard stereotypical, "I'm sorry to hear that." It was more of a blank stare, then an abrupt trip to the back where I guess she talked to someone and made me wait 15 minutes until she returned and said, "No". So we have gone back to Berkeley Eye in Katy. Columbus Eye always billed my wife's medical anyway and never her eye insurance which covers the exam fully, so it was an annual fight to get it rebilled correctly anyway. And for me they overcharged me each year, then made me call and request my refund before it would be sent. We hated having to call each year but it was each and every year, just like clockwork. Dr. Nayar - you're only as good as the people you surround yourself with. I think you're a good doctor, but I think your staff could use an overhaul.

I’ve been going to Columbus Eye Associates since I was 10 yrs old. I went to the original location in Columbus, Tx. To see them open up an office in Katy and one in Sealy I was ecstatic. The doctors have been absolutely wonderful. Dr. Mayer explains everything to me in a way I understand. Not in technical terminology. He always remembers all my history. I don’t feel like I’m just a number but someone they truly care about. I would definitely recommend this eye clinic.

Dr. Shah saw me for a potential retina issue. She was extremely thorough and explained the process and her findings. She was running a few minutes late (due to a flat tire), however, my visit only took an hour, total. Dr Shah has the best attitude and she is very professional. Yet, her sense of humor about her erratic morning had me laughing the entire time. I will be back to see her again. Thanks Dr Shah for making my stressful situation tolerable by sharing your morning antics.

I have been a patient of Dr. Arun Nayar for over 20 years. I would highly recommend him, as well as his staff. They are always so kind and patient. I cannot say enough about them.

Absolutely love Columbus Eye Assoc. Have been seeing Dr. Nayar for years. He is the best when it comes to taking care of any eye issues you may have.
