Avoid this place at all costs! To begin, I called my daughter’s insurance before scheduling an appointment to find a doctor that was covered. I was directed to this office. When I called to scheduled her appointment, I also gave them her insurance information and made sure they accepted her insurance. They confirmed and I scheduled the appointment. The day came for the appointment and upon entering the office, I asked again if they for sure took my daughter’s insurance and was told for a second time that they do indeed accept that insurance. Awesome! We went through the exam, which was fine. They opted to dilate my daughter’s eyes to be thorough. I agreed, but also asked if it was covered by her insurance and was assured that it was. This was in October of 2025. Fast forward to April 2026: I get a bill for $200+ from this office. I immediately called the office and asked them why I was being sent this bill. They told me that I needed to call my insurance and were very unhelpful. I called my insurance and they claimed that the office had billed the insurance incorrectly. They said they would contact this office and ask them to resubmit the claim correctly and told me I had nothing to worry about. I called about a month later and my insurance told me that the claim was still being processed and to be patient. This morning I get a call from a collections agency asking for my 7 year old by name. I inquired as to how a 7 year old has a debt in their name and they informed me that this office had passed my daughter’s account over to collections for non payment. I explained to them what had taken place a few months before and they advised me to dispute the debt. I then called my insurance company. I was on the phone with them for almost 2 hours. They called this office and asked again if they were in network with my insurance. They were told that yes, they do accept that insurance. The insurance company representative then kindly asked the billing person at the office to resubmit the claim correctly. I was advised today that this could take another few months to fully resolve and to just “be patient” and let the insurance company work on it.. I intend to stay on top of this and make sure it is resolved. I really believe it to be unconscionable for anyone to file collections on a 7 year old!!! I will never return to this office and would advise anyone to proceed with caution if you’re scheduling an appointment. Get everything in writing or record their verbal responses on your phone. Also, as a side note, they charge $60 for you to obtain a hard copy of your prescription. I believe this practice to be very shady. My advice is to go to Americas best for your eye exam needs.

Unprofessional care, communication and double billing. I had an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience at this clinic. I specifically scheduled an appointment with a doctor. The doctor had an emergency - which is completely understandable -but the clinic failed to communicate this to me. After waiting for over an hour, I was called back and only informed after entering the exam room that I was being seen by a resident/or a different doctor instead. When I explained my medical history-specifically that multiple doctors had already prescribed steroid drops and they weren't working-the resident ignored my history, prescribed the exact same steroid drops, and staff actually laughed about the situation while I was actively struggling with a chronic issue. Because this appointment was a complete failure, I had to return a week later to see the actual doctor I intended to see. The clinic is now double-billing me, The billing department refused to acknowledge their scheduling and care failure and refused to waive the fee for a second visit that was entirely caused by their own mistake. Avoid this office if you value clear communication and compassionate care.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I went in this past Wednesday to have my right eye(infected) to see Dr. Burns. After the assistant ask whole a lot of questions, diluted my eyes and waited outside again and Dr. Burns comes and check my eye and said come back next time for a follow up and he did 2 years ago, and just asking me to come back and come before he prescript RX eye drop to me. I was there 2 years ago, recommended by my personal doctor, and this time I went on my own thinking I will get different Dr. to exam my eye but I got Dr. Burns again. He was rude and did not check my eye properly. Today(4/10/26) my eye still the same if not worse than before I went to see him. He asked me to come back again. each time I go, it's $75 copay. this place try to SCAM money out of you. if you going to SCAM people for money, at least help people with the medical issues. NOT RECOMMEND this place or Dr. Burns to anyone AT ALL.

I called because I was having eye pain, and the woman I spoke with was very cold and rude. She asked several questions about my insurance, then simply said there were no appointments available and offered no help or guidance. The whole interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional.

I called the eye doctor's office on 07/01/26 at 2:45 p.m. to ask whether my contact lens prescription was ready for pickup. I was connected to Medical Records, and the representative, Diana, immediately responded, "I don't know." What kind of response is that? She didn't ask for my name. This is the first time I've ever had a staff member say, "I don't know," before even looking up a patient's information. She then kept saying she was working from home. So what was I supposed to do because she was working from home? Not interrupt her? After asking for my date of birth and reviewing my record, she said that I would have to call the office. Yes, I called the office! What was I supposed to do? I called the office, and she told me to call the office. She was unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude. If someone answers patient calls, they should either have access to the necessary information or connect the patient with someone who does.
