Costco Optical

I’m leaving a two star review only because the front desk people in the optometrist office were very sweet, I arrived early for my appointment, and I still had to wait almost 45 minutes for the exam. When I got into the small exam room, I noticed that the equipment used to check your eyes was covered with make-up from the last patient. I’m just glad the equipment was white, otherwise I never would have known! I honestly can’t remember if the equipment in the front office was wiped down after the last client. Nobody has time for eye and skin infections! Just be sure to ask them to wipe down the equipment in front of you before your face touches anything. I had to ask the doctor giving the exam if she had any alcohol wipes, and when I pointed to the equipment, she hurriedly wiped it down. It’s impossible that she would not have noticed this before swinging the equipment in front of my face. Also, when I went to get the prescription filled, it was for bifocals, when I clearly stated I wanted regular lenses. I’m grateful that the optician asked me to verify the prescription before submitting it (another reason for the extra star). That would have been quite an inconvenience, to say the least. I actually expected a lot more from Costco, but it is Lancaster, after all.

I have been here a few times . The front desk girls are really nice . I went back for a checkup because I had an issue with my contact rotating in one of my eyes .Dr. tells me that my eyes “are stupid “ laughs and says it’s a joke . I’ve never had an encounter with a Dr. that’s very unprofessional and says demeaning things to their own customers. Suggest going somewhere else .

My experience at Costco optical in Lancaster has been bad everytime. There is always an issue with the frames I get.

I grabbed a number and was told Im next, then was proceeded to be passed by several people who did not have to grab a number. I don’t understand how the order of when people arrive does not matter. Why does people picking up a prescription receive priority? I was trying to quickly drop off an order for contacts but instead waited 30 minutes to be passed by 5 people that had just walked in. The lady said it would be quick. There was no reason to lie and proceed to take another person right in front of me then ask for a third time after 30 minutes what my number was. Terrible experience, i was lied to, my time was wasted, and i was passed up by several people who did not grab numbers.

I had a great experience with the optical center! The staff was so kind during the appointment itself, but Kelly was so fun and kind when it came to picking out the frames. She was so friendly and made it a great experience. It was busy, but that is expected with Costco.
