For some reason you can't take a number anymore. You have to 1. Scan a code, 2. Open a website, 3. Enter your name and phone number, 4. Read and agree to the terms, conditions & privacy policy 5. Select the service you want, then finally 6. Wait 10-15 minutes for your turn!! As I am doing the check-in process, one customer after another is asking, "How do I check-in?" What a time-suck, inconvenience, and invasion of privacy via technology. This also further insulates the customer from the human interaction with the associate. If I wanted "1984"-type interaction, I would have got a membership with Sam's Club.

Called over the course of several days and couldnt get through to the optical department- no answer, middle of weekdays. Finally reached Rene and he was rude, no greeting just answered yelling at someone else and then said “yeah what”, i thought maybe i was calling the wrong number so i asked for the optical dept he said yea this is it do you need something. I said yes i need to order contacts, he said did you want to do that over the phone? I said yes, he said well we dont do that. So…I guess don’t try to talk to people on the phone.
The people are friendly enough when you actually get service. The wait app is horrendous. I needed to pick up a pair of glasses, signed into the app and was told it was almost my turn. Twenty minutes later and five people called before me, I left without my glasses. Finished all of my Costco shopping in less time than I waited. Don't tell me it's almost my turn when I'm not next in line!
For some reason our prescription was incorrect and we went in to double check and the receptionist is horrible. I dread going in there and speaking with her. She kept asking me why I decided to wait so long, why and I getting glasses now when I should have gotten them with the prescription. Either way, what i said wasn't a good enough reason for her and she was cold and calloused. I really suggest that they get someone else to work the front desk she needs a hug or something. This is the second Year we have had to deal with her and she's still a sourpuss. Good thing the Dr. Was great and Cindy outside of the office where the glasses are assisted us in exchanging our glasses to the updated prescription and was very sweet and helpful. Will go back again and pray the mean receptionist is off that day.
DO NOT BUT CONTACTS FROM COSTCO!!! My husband had his eyes examined by the doctor inside Costco got a trial pair of contacts, he was talked into buying a 6 month supply because of a rebate offer when the contacts arrived there was a problem with the contacts he could not see clearly, there was a huge difference in the trial pair and the ones he received. Because my husband wrote a “L” and “R” on the unopened boxs the Optical manager refused a refund and told us go back to the doctor and have the prescription checked. That’s almost $200 down the drain. The problem is with the contacts we ordered even though it matched the prescription there is something wrong if he was able to see with the trial pair and not the ones from Costco. The optical manger was zero help and told us to talk with the doctor even after the store manger tried to get us a refund the optical manger still refused and wanted us to go back to the doctor. At this point I have no faith in optical department and why would we go back and pay for another doctor visit when he just had one. Eventually the store manager got the optical manger to give us refund. I will NEVER go back to Costco optical again sometimes cheaper is not always better, you get what you pay for. Also Costco store manager was very helpful if she hadn’t helped we would be out of all that money because the optical manger refused to help. DO NOT USE COSTCO OPTICAL !! I would have zero stars but this system does not allow it!!
