I got my prescription from another optical place with red and white in their sign. When I went to order contacts they were $360 for 2 boxes- a 6 month supply. I thought that seemed high so I checked 1800* and they were cheaper and I could get 30% off. Long story short after calling my eye insurance, I could use EITHER my $200 insurance benefit OR the 30% discount. I had to order additional contacts for distance (yes I know the options but I prefer it this way). So in the end, my order from the red and white store would have been $470 and seeing 1800* was in network, it would have been around the same amount. I would have had to pay $270 out of pocket for a 6 month supply of contacts. I have been a member of Costco for over 10 years but never tried the optical because it was out of network. After my initial call to Tim for info and my in person visit to order the contacts, I paid $70 out of pocket. Tim and Laura were both so helpful and personable. I have found my new optical provider! Also, I ordered the contacts on a Monday and they were delivered on Thursday. Fast shipping! Thanks (again) to Costco!
