I’ve been going to Csonka for over four years, and my experiences have consistently been beyond positive. The staff is efficient and professional, and the doctors are always proactive when it comes to managing my eye health. I trust them completely with my family’s vision care. Dr. Miller, in particular, stands out. She is incredibly thorough and takes the time to clearly explain my results and all available options, never making me feel rushed. I also brought my dad to see her when he was dealing with complex health issues, and she was absolutely wonderful with him. She was patient, attentive, and went above and beyond— even helping him obtain specialty eye drops that weren’t covered by his insurance. When I got my first pair of progressive lenses, Dr. Miller carefully walked me through what to expect and how to adjust. They’ve turned out to be my favorite pair of glasses yet. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for exceptional, family-friendly eye care. I wish all Physician offices were like Csonka Optometry.

I worked with the optometrist to get two new pairs of glasses, and she informed me that my insurance would cover both frames with a $25 copay each, which I agreed to. However, I was charged $75. When I asked for an explanation, she told me in detail that an extra $25 charge would be removed because she had accidentally run two separate transactions on my card. Later that day, after I had already left the office, she called to tell me she had made a mistake. She explained that I actually owed an additional $25 because she had forgotten to charge me for the second frame, and that the extra $25 I had originally questioned was for a different fee. I explained that if I had been given the correct information while I was still in the office, I likely would not have purchased the second frame. Since the confusion was caused by their mistake—and I had specifically asked for a detailed explanation of the charges—I felt it would have been appropriate for the office to waive the additional fee. Instead, I was told, “You can bring the frames back if you don’t want to pay the fee.” I found the situation to be unprofessional. If you don’t want to receive unexpected phone calls after leaving the office about additional charges that were not clearly explained beforehand, I would recommend avoiding this office.
Dr. Miller was excellent at explaining results of my eye exam. I would highly recommend her to everyone. My wife now sees Dr. Miller. She used to see Dr. Csonka who retired recently. I started going to Csonka Optometric back in 2011 when my eye doctor retired. My wife referred me to Csonka Optometric.
Doctors are great, but they really need a new system for billing. I had to leave 4 voicemails and every time I called they weren’t able to help me for close to 8 months. They weren’t able sending notices that they’d send the bill to collections but there was no way for me to pay it. They don’t have an online system, they didn’t return calls. It was really frustrating trying to pay my bill.
The doctors really take their time to give you a thorough exam and to explain what they're doing and what issues you might have and the staff is exceptionally kind and friendly. Also, no painful eye puff test for glaucoma! The only negative I can think of is that most of the frames they carry are pretty pricey designer frames, but they are happy to give you your prescription to get frames elsewhere. I've also never had any billing problems and the lab they use is very prompt. Never thought going to the eye doctor would be a pleasant experience, but here it is.
