Dr Thurber is excellent, and he has provided compassionate, informed, and friendly care for my husband’s eyes, as well as mine, for the past 20 years. Dr Thurber talks us through any issues he might find with our eyes, and he always leads with the “good news” after examining our eyes. I appreciate his positivity. He has completed cataract surgeries for us both, and he has inserted plugs in my tear ducts to help address the extreme dryness of my aging eyes. I also very much appreciate his honest assessment of any medication he prescribes, including sharing his professional thoughts about how patients can stretch the length of time between the need to refill prescriptions. In other words, he advocates for patients and their budgets, while also providing excellent eye care with friendly professionalism.

Dr. Thurber has been my optometrist/ophthalmologist for years. He's outstanding, kind, professional and the best ophthalmologist in town, in my opinion. If you can deal with the front desk staff in his office, I'd say become his patient. One staff person is absolutely abusive.
Dr. Thurber is kind, patient, and knows his stuff. My eyes are pretty sensitive to light, puffs of air, and to being touched, but Dr. Thurber has an experienced and comfortable technique when examining them which really helps with that. I had a problem with one of my eyes recently that scared me quite a bit, and Dr. Thurber did a great job of explaining it to me, and of helping me with the follow-up I needed to address it.
Dr. Thurber is simply the best there is. I am an RN and have worked with others in the area during cataract surgery. The patients were ran through like cattle. Dr. Thurber is professional, prompt, gifted and one of the kindest people one can have the pleasure of meeting. I can not recommend him more.
Patient, personable, a great communicator, compassionate, professional, excellent and highly competent -- all ways I would use to describe Dr. Thurber. When my eyesight began experiencing odd irregularities in 2008, I turned to Dr. Thurber after receiving several shrugs from other eye doctors in Lincoln. He quickly diagnosed the issue, put my fears to rest, and took immediate steps to remedy the problem. I've enjoyed going back for my eye care ever since. The office staff is also very friendly and professional. It's too bad there isn't a way to give six or seven stars here.
