I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Michele Piccone and her office and will not be returning. I was referred to this practice after an emergency room visit for what appeared to be a severe allergic reaction affecting my eyes. Before scheduling my appointment, I specifically confirmed with the office that they accepted my insurance and that my visit would be in network. After my appointment, however, the office administrator called to say she had been mistaken and that they did not accept my insurance because she believed my insurance company had changed. After contacting my insurance company, I learned that the information I had been given was incorrect. My interactions with both the office administrator and Dr. Piccone left me feeling that they were dismissive, condescending, and unprofessional. Later, when my housing office requested routine verification of my out-of-pocket medical expenses as part of my annual disability housing recertification, I was informed that the same office administrator was also rude and abrupt with their staff while they were attempting to obtain the required documentation. To make matters worse, I later followed up with my regular eye care provider and received a different opinion regarding the likely cause of my eye condition, leaving me with little confidence in the information I had been given. Accurate information, professionalism, and respectful communication are essential in healthcare. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with this practice. Based on the inaccurate insurance information, poor communication, and overall treatment I received, I cannot recommend this office.

Would not recommend. I went to this office for the first time because I needed my retinas checked due to a medical condition. During the appointment, the doctor seemed very quiet and somewhat annoyed, but I brushed it off. During the visit, she also checked my vision and gave me a prescription for eyeglasses. I assumed this was part of the new-patient eye exam. About a month later, I received a separate $35 bill for “Determination of Refractive State,” along with a notice stating that 8% interest would be added for each additional 30 days the bill was late. I called the office because I did not understand the charge. I was told that it was for the part of the exam used to determine my eyeglass prescription. I was still confused because I had only made the appointment to have my retinas checked, and I did not know beforehand that this was a separate service with an additional charge. I planned to pay the bill when I could, but then I unexpectedly received a collection notice. I wish I had read the reviews before making my appointment, because I would have chosen another office. I did not need a new eyeglass prescription—I only wanted my retinas checked. After reading some of the other reviews, I now plan to have my eyes checked again elsewhere to make sure the prescription strength is correct. Overall, this experience felt like a waste of my time, and I was disappointed with the lack of communication about the additional charge and the billing process.
Dr.piccone, is professional, kind and knowledgeable as my ophthalmologist. I am so grateful to be her patient. Takes time to exam , explain and answer my questions. Thank you, Dr.Piccone
Dr Michele Piccone is a very caring and compassionate person and Dr. She takes her time and explains in detail. She is very accommodating as I had missed an appointment and she fit me in last minute. I highly recommend her, not only is she brilliant but is passionate about her work .
I can’t say enough great things about Dr Piccone. I have been seeing her for years after a corneal abrasion and then used her for contacts and glasses. Last month I decided to finally pull the trigger and get Lasik. It is like a miracle. I can see everything! I have been wearing glasses since I was six years old and I walked into her office the day after the procedure and my vision was 20/15. She and her staff were professional, courteous and knowledgable. She has also treated my husband and daughter with great success. I’d recommend her for all of your vision needs.
