Dr Tavel Family Eye Care

I took my mother in to get a pair of glasses. She had a prescription for after her cataract surgery. We walked in, nobody acknowledged us. No big deal. We hovered around, looked at different glasses, tried them on and nothing nobody said a word to us. Finally decided to leave, not even a Goodbye. There were only 23other customers being helped in the store and 3 employees that I saw. One was finishing up with someone. I would always send people to Dr Tavel but not anymore. Very disappointed.

Scam - Avoid! Trying to get $870.00 for a $160.00 pair of glasses. Avoid this place and go somewhere professional, if there is anywhere professional left! The entire medical field is absolutely worthless! Ordered a pair of prescription safety glasses, they called my insurance and got everything settled I get $600.00 for glasses. Glasses came in and there was a problem, returned them and they said pick another pair so I did. They called and said the new pair was in but there would be a $270.00 difference. Uhhhhhh, the ones I picked to replace the first pair was cheaper, how do I owe almost $300.00? The guy said my insurance said they don’t cover safety glasses. I called my insurance and they said they haven’t spoken to anyone about it and as long as they’re prescription, they’re covered. Said she would call them and let them know. Haven’t heard back from Tavel. I believe they were trying to scam me for another $270.00! They didn’t even call the insurance company, just made that part up I guess? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Avoid this place at all cost!

I was there almost 3 weeks ago to change lenses on my existing frame . They told me it’s takes 5-7 business days now is 3 weeks and still not received as of today. I called several times and they telling their computer is broken and can’t connect with the company. I said this not expectable to the customer. God knows how much time I have to wait to get my glasses back and hopefully they didn’t mistake on lenses.. I don’t recommend this office at all. I used to go there long time ago like 20 years or more and they were the best, but now instead getting better they are getting worse!!

I have always had great experiences at Dr Tavel. Dr Danielle Eslick is, by far one of best optometrist I have had the pleasure to work with in my many years of wearing glasses and contacts. I have also seen Dr. McCoy and he is also a wonderful optometrist. All staff are friendly, professional, and efficient. Great experience every time.

Sales person sold me a pair of flexon frames because they are more durable. Lasted maybe a year and they broke and Tavel said I’m out of warranty so tuff…. Great company. Just get the cheap pair of frames and save yourself some money
