Was a very good first appointment. The office staff is very friendly and efficient. New patient testing was thorough and went well. Dr. Shetzline did a complete eye exam and explained everything as he proceeded. I was happy with the good results of testing and exam. Follow up appointment is scheduled in six months.
The woman who checked me in before seeing the doctor was very rude. She asked me for a list of current medications I was taking, which I gave. I was already a little embarrassed to talk about it because the spot where they do this is kinda out in the open. At the time I was on several prescription medications relating to different issues. I was taking MiraLAX regularly at the time and she commented that I was only on MiraLAX because of all these other medications screwing up my gut. All of which I had started taking afterward, not that it’s any of her business. She then asked if one of the medications (buspar) was for anxiety. I said yes and then she said that “we should just mark anxiety for everybody”. Besides the psychiatric medication, the other medications I listed (including the MiraLAX) are to treat the symptoms of several phobic conditions. None of which I felt I needed to explain at the eye doctor, of all places. Nonetheless, I left feeling quite embarrassed and uncomfortable. I would not return to this office.
Now my whole family goes here! Always a great experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Doctors are wonderful. I found this place because it was one of the few options my insurance was allowing for my daughter but I am so glad because we might not have found so much a good office
My son has Autism and is nonverbal and each staff member treated him with compassion, respect and kindness. Billing staff went out of their way to help me. Highly recommend.
