I’ve always had good experiences at Costco, but my interaction with the optical department today was extremely disappointing. The gentleman who answered the phone was rude and dismissive from the start. I simply called to ask about my prescription, and instead of offering help or even basic customer service, I was told he was ‘with a member’ and that I could either wait 15 minutes or just go online and order myself. I completely understand being busy, but the attitude and tone were unnecessary. If someone truly can’t help over the phone, that’s fine — but there’s a respectful way to communicate that. Honestly left wondering why the phone was answered at all if helping customers was such an inconvenience.

Joel is the man! I dread glass shopping, as I'm not too good at picking out what looks good on me. Joel gets me dialed in quickly without rushing the process and I'm always pleased with the end result. On top of this, he is just a pleasure to deal with in general.
Couldn’t return perfectly good, unexpired, sealed box contacts that are no longer needed. They were sold in a box with 3 boxes in it & I only needed to return 2. They do sell single boxes as well. Would not take them because all 3 boxes weren’t there. Same contacts as single box. Useless to me now! What a waste!
I wanted to look at frames and wasn't allowed in the department unless I had a rx in hand. I understand being safe right now, but at least allow a customer to look at the selection with a limit on how many you can try on. The technician wasn't friendly or helpful. There was no one else around so I felt dismissed. Pewaukee was much nicer and had bins for sanitizing frames after handling.
Selection of frames not good, in styles and sizes (find style, not size or find size, not good style). Asked if we could bring in our own and told yes. Month later after we got frames we come in and was then told of extra $25 charge for each pair, a bit excessive IMO. Had now for over over 4 weeks and progressives not measured well, neither of us can see as well with glasses worn properly on face - and I cannot read thru lower portion unless I look forward and have phone/letter at 90 degree flat (not a normal position). Not sure I'd go back.
