review: ⸻ I am writing to formally express my deep frustration and concern regarding my recent experience with Greater Houston Eye Consultants in Humble, Texas. What should have been a smooth and supportive process for scheduling a medically necessary cataract procedure turned into an unnecessarily stressful and emotionally draining ordeal. The customer service representative responsible for scheduling demonstrated a significant lack of professionalism, empathy, and urgency. Given that cataract surgery is a sensitive and often anxiety-inducing procedure, I expected a level of care and reassurance that was simply not provided. Instead, there was a noticeable absence of motivation to assist, and at no point did she attempt to go the extra mile to ensure comfort or clarity during this process. On multiple occasions, my appointment date was changed without consideration of the urgency of my condition. Communication was inconsistent and unresponsive, which only added to the distress of an already serious situation. Additionally, when my insurance provider contacted the office to verify coverage, the representative engaged in unnecessary back-and-forth, disputing network status rather than working collaboratively to resolve the matter efficiently. This experience has been both exhausting and disheartening. As a patient seeking care during a vulnerable time, I expected compassion, professionalism, and competence—none of which were consistently demonstrated. Due to the severity of these concerns, I am respectfully requesting to be contacted directly by a member of higher management or administration to address this matter. Immediate attention and corrective action are necessary to ensure that no other patient endures a similar experience.

Wait time is unacceptable. When I got there I was told they were running on time but it was TWO HOURS until I saw the doctor; and I had to reorganize my next appointments. No one expects to wait that long for an eye doctor. The support staff and doctor were very nice but I will not be back.

Dr. Hernan Palermo was helpful and very knowledgeable ,only concerned was waiting time for almost one hour, when I asked the front they said you are the next, then 2 different patients were called in before me and came after me almost 30 mins. When I asked them again they said we have only 2 doctors today.

I had an appointment on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 with Dr. Sumeet Sharma. My visit with him and his staff was very pleasant as always. I can honestly appreciate the kindness I’m shown from the time I sign in, escorted to the back for testing and when I see the Dr. This is very important to me because in this day and time everything is rush rush and attitudes are so bad even on a professional basis. So any kindness shown is greatly appreciated!

Dr Sharma is an excellent surgeon. Viviana, the Coordinator, makes sure everything goes smoothly from scheduling to tests, and from the sugery to followup.
