Dr. Lopez and her team are amazing! They were really good with my 5 year old and helped put her at ease during the exam.

I arrived to my appointment a couple minutes early. When I checked in the lady at the front desk said “So you’ll be paying out of pocket” I told her no I have insurance and filled out my insurance info yesterday on the portal. She said that we don’t have anything on file and that they tried contacting me to get my insurance information. I showed them my insurance card off my phone. Then another lady that verifies insurance said “ I never heard of that insurance. Are you sure that’s right and not medical because I verify insurance and never heard of that insurance” I let them know that no this is my vision insurance and that y’all are in network with my insurance. Even showed them that they were off my insurance portal. The lady that originally helped me said that since we don’t have that on file we can reschedule or you can pay out of pocket. I told her I would reschedule and call them to schedule as the options she gave didn’t work with my schedule. Then the lady that verifies insurance told the one helping me to make sure they have the correct phone number for me because they called numerous times to get my insurance information. That upset me because to me numerous means more than one phone call and according to my phone they only called me once on Monday! So numerous times was incorrect. I don’t see how they couldn’t have my insurance information when I put that information in the portal yesterday and then to make me feel stupid by questioning my insurance and if they were in network just was so frustrating!
Went to my second location of EyeTx due to a bad experience on the one at Potranco. From the start they were already having trouble with my insurance, claimed my insurance was “inactive” and they were unable to access it on there end. Called my insurance, had my insurance write up a letter stating that my insurance was active. When I arrived, the receptionist did everything she could to get me in but according to her and another receptionist they could not find my insurance on there end. Ended up not being seen from an obvious eye injury and if I wanted to be seen I would have to pay out of pocket. $90-300. All in all, EyeTx is not a place I would recommend to anyone.
2 years ago I went to this place. The doctor mentioned that I had a large optic nerve. I asked what that meant. She was like well like hmm nothing necessarily, we just have to keep an eye on it. Okay… Fast forward to today. I have been diagnosed with a neurological condition where I can potentially go blind and a symptom is my optic nerve can look large and swollen. Imagine where I would be if this eye doctor took action nearly 2 years ago.
This place is a really nice clean establishment. The people are outstanding and very caring. The eye doctor actually told me something about my eyes that no one else has ever. The eyeglasses were actually more than what I wanted to spend so I was a little disappointed with that, but they did try to work with me and gave me some discounts. The main reason I would use this establishment again is because the people were so wonderful.
