⚠️WARNING⚠️ The doctors here are attentive, professional, and genuinely good at what they do. The doctor's pre-eye exam assistants are also pleasant to work with. That part of the practice is solid. Where things fall apart is the front desk and ordering side. As a new patient needing contacts, I was a box short on supplies for one eye so I was directed to the ordering department staff. Instead of reviewing my file or asking basic questions, the person handling my order jumped straight into trying to sell me a larger supply before reviewing my chart instructions. I'd only tried lenses for about three days and was a first time lens wearer. I had to explain that new patients need a trial period before committing to a bigger order because perhaps she doesn't know this? Once fully explaining, she then informed me that she'd call another office to check supplies and would contact me the next day but, I had a sense that, that wasn't going to really happen. After that, getting a callback became its own ordeal. I called to follow up because I was so close being short on the lenses. I got a busy line multiple times when calling in, left a voicemail, called back hours later, finally reached someone, got disconnected mid transfer by "E", and upset because I didn't receive the promised callback which I knew I wasn't going to really get. When I called again minutes later, busy lines again. I finally got through, which tells me the voicemails are simply not a priority and reached a live person. Basic trial stock for common lower power lens types shouldn't run out, and voicemails from existing patients shouldn't sit unaddressed while new calls get picked up right away. I ended up asking to be removed from their patient system and will be finding a different provider where they care about patients. I guess those other negative reviews are true. If you're looking for solid doctors, they have that. If you need reliable follow up or supply availability, be prepared for frustration. Highly wouldn't recommend until the management, handling and/sales associates get proper patient care training. I now see why they have mixed/negative reviews. Based on the quantity and ongoing negative reviews, I guess they're "still trying to improve" but, one day will start. Instead of "Your time matters, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Please feel free to reach out to our office if there's anything we can do to make this right." They should reach out after asking their team what happened and then contact the former patient how to address their concern. They should explain what corrective actions have ACTUALLY taken place and figure out how to regain their trust from ex-patients, as that in the long run will clear out any weak points in their processes or someone who should be given a different responsibility or have them placed at a different organization where patient care doesn't matter. Then again, does one patient matter 🤷🏻♂️ I guess not really to them.

My only complaint is reception. I have gone to this place twice in person and called several times. Always deep sighing on my face because I'm interrupting whatever they are doing. I go in to check in for the first time. I didnt know I needed to bring in a medical insurance card too. They have me stand there for a few minutes after they tell me I need to have a physical insurance card. I ask "do you want me to come back later?" Then the employee gives me a deep sigh. "No. You can email it to us now." Whenever I call the office, it always goes to an answering machine within 5-10 seconds if nobody picks up the phone. Voicemail left in off office hour never gets a return call. I have to call multiple times to talk to a receptionist. I was about to be late to my 2nd appointment so I call. I ask if they want me still coming in or reschedule. So we go to reschedule after this employee gives me a deep sigh over the phone. I ask, "Do you have any opening on this this date?" "No." "What about this date?" "No." I ask multiple times. At that point, shouldn't they ask me "I have an opening on this date. Are you available?" No, she doesn't. The line is silent. I'm bothering her too much. I've decided to not go here then.
Very Disappointing Experience I was very disappointed with my experience at this eye doctor’s office. I went in with eye swelling and a sudden change in my vision, but I felt my concerns were not properly evaluated. I was given an explanation for the vision changes, but I was concerned about the sudden onset of my symptoms and expected a more thorough evaluation. The office communication was also extremely frustrating. I was given multiple different dates for my glasses. When the final date passed, I had to call to find out they were actually ready, and no one had contacted me to let me know. There were also times when no one answered the phone. Additionally, my eye drops were not called into the pharmacy despite me calling the office more than four times to follow up. Overall, the lack of communication, follow-through, and attention to my concerns made this a very disappointing experience. I expected much better patient care and would not recommend this office based on my experience.
Horrible experience with Focus Eyecare and Dr. Esperon. I visited this office in January for an exam to get my contact lenses renewed. The office was in the process of being acquired by a larger conglomerate /corporation and as a result my trial lenses didn't arrive for 6-8 weeks. I told Dr Esperon that I could not wear bi focal lenses because they give me migraines yet he ordered them anyway and a regular set of lenses. I could not get either prescription filled until the bi focal lenses arrived which came at a later date. So I tried the regular lenses he recommended and I had blurry vision and no night vision. Finally the bi focal lenses arrived nearly 2 months after the exam when they were ordered. When I returned to have my script reassessed I was told I had to pay for another exam bc the previous exam was 6 months old. I argued that it took about 2 months to get both sets of trials which were 30 day where and I tried both sets. I refused to pay $80 for a new exam as a result of the convoluted and unorganized process perpetuated by their office changes. Furthermore, I had previously paid for an eye exam and the doctor did not fit me with the right prescription in either set of trial lenses hence the reason I was returning. The office assistants spoke to the doctor and he agreed to charge me for a contact lens fitting versus an exam. I arrived 5 minutes early for a 4:45pm exam and waited 1.15 hours for the doctor to see me. During this time I was seated in the hallway and Dr Esperon walked passed me twice in and out of exam rooms seeing two other patients. He never acknowledged I was there to correct the job he previously did wrong. I was also called on the phone 3 different times and emailed to confirm the appointment which I did and arrived early. This practice has an outside call center that schedules their appointments and it's difficult to reach a person but they were adamant about confirming I would be arriving or I'd be charged a cancellation fee. Not only did I show up, I arrived early to a messy situation. I will not be returning to this office and still do not have my prescription filled for contact lenses. Dr Esperon, you and your mother company need to do better for your patients.
I had a wonderful experience at Focus Eye Care. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive. The office was clean, modern, and well-organized, which made the entire visit feel smooth and efficient. My eye exam with Dr. Esperon was thorough, and he took the time to explain everything clearly, answering all of my questions with patience and care. I also appreciated the help I received in selecting new frames — there was a great selection, and the staff made sure I found something that suited both my style and prescription needs. Overall, I left feeling confident about my eye health and happy with my visit. I would definitely recommend Focus Eye Care to anyone looking for quality eye care and excellent service.😊
