Gaddie Eye Center - LaGrange

****UPDATE**** Angie from Gaddie reached out to me shortly after this review was posted and scheduled a time for me to come in asap. I went in today and everyone was extremely helpful and they were able to resolve the issue with my contacts. They took my concerns seriously and made things right. I’m extremely thankful we were able to get things straightened out. 8 months ago I left a 5 star review. My initial appointment was great. However, I am now having issues with my contacts and I called to get them checked. I specifically let them know I wasn’t looking for anything free, I just wanted to make an appointment to have an Optometrist check my contacts. I was told that I was outside of the 4 month prescription check window, I said that was fine I was happy to pay for a check myself as my contacts are really bothering my eyes. I’m not sure if it’s the contacts or a problem with my eyes. The person I spoke with on the phone goes ahead and schedules an appointment for me. After the call, they call me back and tell me again that I am outside the timeframe for a prescription check. I asked if I had to wait until my prescription expires in October and she tells me yes. I’m not really sure how it’s acceptable to make me wait four more months to have my eyes checked when I am having issues seeing and pain in one of my eyes due to my contacts. I’m not asking for anything free not contacts or an exam, I just want someone to see what is wrong and they really couldn’t care less. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated.

Would have given 5 stars but I don't really agree with the mandate to do their digital retinal scan for $45 (or less with insurance), with no alternative choice to be dilated. This is something that was implemented since my previous annual exam. I understand it's labeled as their "standard of service", which is fine. If you want to raise the bar to privide superior service, do so, but do it as a part of your office visit fee and stop forcing patients to pay extra for it, unless they want to go somewhere else. I'm sure the machine has paid for itself many times over by now. Aside from that, They're great.

So my experience here was not a good experience, and I'm not happy with the product I got from them. The product I was told I could get I was not given and it took me months to get my refund on the one I was promised but did not receive. The only way I got my refund was after 3 months of failed attempts dealing with this office i called corporate on them and had to resolve my issue that way. The glasses I did receive do not fit correctly they slide and don't stay up on my face can't use them. Waste of my time and money. However in fairness , my husband had a good experience with them so.... I dunno judge as you will , i guess! .... I will not go back.

Staff were very helpful, thoughtful and knowledgeable of services. They were able to accommodate my needs and were very kind. I was actually looking for a new eye doctor and this experience was the deciding factor in choosing Gaddie Eye Center. The entire staff was amazing. Thank you!

The Optician Jadea was amazing and so sweet! My glasses came back perfect. She walked me through everything and helped me during the entire process. Wonderful employee!!!!
