I was impressed with how quickly I was able to get an appointment how timely the appointment itself went. The recommendation was clear they worked with my insurance and I was able to have the treatment that I needed within two weeks of my first visit. The day of my procedure was timely. Everything was explained perfectly and for me that's really important because I'm completely deaf so having a staff, that's knowledgeable and patient is great. The follow up visit with Dr. Gelman was also very timely very informative and three days after this procedure my vision has improved. I would say 90% and it's going to get better. I'm very happy I came to Dr. Rachel Gelman for this, her staff and her are very professional, knowledgeable and kind.

Dr. Gelman may be a great doctor, but after being a patient at her office for over a year, I’ve never met her. I had major side effects from cancer treatment that affected my eyes and needed to be seen by an ophthalmologist. Was seen by her PA instead of her. I also have cataracts and was scheduled for post op appt. But I also have a severe allergy to silicone and requested a sample of the material when I was told it was acrylic silicone. During an appt, I was told they would accommodate me and get a sample. Three weeks later, I call asking about it and request a call back. No one calls me back. When I go to the office to ask again, I’m told by front desk that they can’t get a sample. Seriously? Can’t means won’t! So, again, she might be a good doctor, but don’t expect her office to help you with any specific problems. Too bad their patient handling isn’t as quick & efficient as their response to my post. I had 2 appointments with 2 different Physician Assistants and told both of them about my silicone allergy and asked about getting a sample. Let’s be clear here, I wasn’t asking for an IOL, I was asking for a sample of the material, not the lens with a prescription. I understand this is a unique request, but I have a serious issue. For your information, the skin on my nose blistered after wearing glasses with silicone nose pads, so you are incorrect. Attaching to my skin would absolutely prove if I could use it or not. A silicone feeding tube that was mistakenly put in me caused excruciating pain immediately upon waking up from surgery and had to be removed. I’m not risking that again, especially with my eyes. If your staff had informed you of my issue, you could’ve taken a few minutes out of your busy schedule to talk to me about it after being your patient for a year! Either there’s terrible communication between staff or a complete lack of care for patients needs.

The professionalism at this office is unheard of. The care and concern that Dr. Rachel Gelman and her staff have shown my mom is much appreciated. My mom had cornea transplant 8 months ago. The surgery was extremely successful and my mom’s vision continues to improve day by day. Also a shout out to her office staff the friendliest people. One last shout out to her assistants, always made my mom feel see and heard. I loved this experience. Highly recommended Dr. Rachel Gelman.

I am very happy with my results With Dr. Gelman, she was very sweet and kind when she was the one seeing me the surgery that I had has changed my life. I no longer have to use glasses to see far. I do need them to see your side, but that is fine only when I need them, but now I can see road signs and everything. I am very, very happy with my results and I will be recommending you to my friends and other people who might be interested or need this type of surgery.

Dr. Gelman saved my vision. Every other office in the valley would not take my case and would refer me out to San Antonio. After multiple trips, even specialists in San Antonio couldn’t fix my corneal nodule. I’m thankful for her and her great staff. Amazing all around!
