Dr Coco worked me in on a Friday. I am from Indiana and was visiting with friends, when my eye became infected. I went to the emergency room in Frisco, where the emergency room physician called Dr. Coco for me to be seen In his office. He confirmed the diagnosis and ordered the correct medication‘s and also found me a pharmacy in Denver that supplied them. I was able to make my 2 PM flight back to Indiana that day. Excellent care!

I only write bad reviews when I have absolutely given them every opportunity to improve the situation. With that said, I AM DONE WITH THIS PRACTICE. ALL THE WAY DONE. This is why: 1. 2023 - First visited with Dr. Lau was fantastic. I like her a lot. Appointment time was only 5-10 minutes behind. That's okay. Things happen. 2. 2024 - My appointment time was 8:00 am. I am always early for a couple reasons, number one; I work and like to stay on time to get to work. Number two; sometimes there's paperwork. I like to get that done so I don't inconvenience other people's time. I was there 30 minutes before opening time. There were already three others waiting as well. 8:00 came and went. 8:30 came and went. They finally opened the doors at 8:45. We go in and register, only to wait almost another hour! I kept letting the girl at the front know I needed to get to work. At around 9:45, I finally got called back. Dr. Lau seemed very irritated at me. IT WASN'T MY FAULT!! I left after the appointment. I assumed it was just a messed up day for them. And I liked Dr. Lau the first time. I scheduled my appointment for the following year, assuming it would be different. 3. 2025 - I showed up for my appointment early. They opened the doors at 8:00. I was the first appointment of the day and still did not get called back until 8:45. My appointment was for 8:00. It was a better appointment, although I still didn't get that warm feeling like I had the first time. I scheduled my appointment for the next year (this year), and left 4. 2026 - My appointment was for 8:00 am again. They opened on time. I was the first one there waiting and as soon as they opened the door, one of their other (extremely rude) customer's cut in front of me to check in. Okay, not their fault. As soon as it was my turn to check in, the girl at the front desk informed me that Dr. Lau doesn't work on Tuesday's any longer. Now, mind you, I have gotten at least 5 calls to confirm my appointment. I even spoke directly with a girl at the front desk! Confirmed my appointment WITH DR. LAU ON TUESDAY, MAY 19TH! She said, "Yes, I have you confirmed"! Since Dr. Lau wasn't there and I drove for 45 minutes to get there; I asked if I could see another doctor since I drive FROM DIA TO PORTER HOSPITAL AREA ON MORNING RUSH FOR MY APPOINTMENT, THAT WAS CONFIRMED BY THEM!!! She said, no. I can't get you in today, I can reschedule you. I said no. I am done. I will find a different eye doctor. I have given them 4 years to get their shit together. I am all the way done.

I was a patient of this practice for decades, dating back to the 1990s, originally under Dr. Hines and Dr. Cushing. I received excellent care for many years, including very successful laser treatment, and this office was widely trusted by professional athletes and long-term Denver patients alike. After both doctors retired and the practice was sold, I returned in July after moving back to Denver for an annual exam with a new doctor. While the clinical exam itself was fine, the administrative experience was not. After paying in full for my exam, I requested my eyeglass prescription so I could obtain reading glasses and was refused due to unexplained billing and insurance issues. I was then told I would need to schedule and pay for another appointment instead. Under federal rules, eyeglass prescriptions must be released after an exam regardless of insurance status. The inability to explain charges while withholding my own prescription felt administratively hostile and unnecessarily obstructive. Unfortunately, this is not the practice it once was. I’ve chosen to move my care elsewhere and would caution others to be aware of potential administrative barriers when requesting records or prescriptions

Edit to update. Just spent $200 to fill the script for glasses and it's the wrong script! It is so far off they completely distort my entire vision make me dizzy, instant headache, almost vomit so blurry I can't see anything at all. Do not schedule here it is so bad! The Dr I seen was absolutely amazing. However their office staff is extremely frustrating. To set up my appointment it took over 20 mins cause she couldn't figure out how to spell my email address I had to spell it over and over again (it's not hard it's my name and the word dog) to get the referral to them. In office when I got there they were scattered and couldn't figure out what was going on. After my appointment she couldn't figure out how to write a note saying I was there for an appt she couldn't do a print out for me to send to my case manager. She was friendly but has no idea what was going on. My glasses prescription didn't have all the info I need to be able to order glasses. Figured I would just fix it next time. Called to get my husband scheduled for the same time I was going in next time, two birds one stone he already has to drive me. and that was almost impossible the lady was rude. She scheduled us at a time I told her I didn't think would work. Called back to reschedule cause it doesn't work and she was rude. When I asked for a copy of the last visit (the lady couldn't figure it out when I was in office) she said that since it's not the day of it costs $25. The lady couldn't figure anything out that day they all were scattered. I have been there 1 time. So they want to charge me $25 to print off a piece of paper. But yet they don't charge if another office requests it. So to send it into my case manager it's $25 but for some random office to get it it's free. If your willing to struggle to be able to show up the Dr is great she is super friendly takes time to listen and seems like she cares. This is an extremely far drive for me, over an hour and I don't drive far distances so I have to coordinate for my husband to drive me. but I was told she is the best Dr to see for the issues I have. The office staff is not worth the Dr. The drive is not worth the office staff.

We were cataract surgery patients of Dr. Hines, a board certified M.D. opthamologist, and the founder of Hines Sight. We scheduled a follow up visit with the new "doctor" since Dr. Hines had retired. We were shocked to discover that the office had no records for us and had no clue who we were. What happened to our medical records? The new "doctor", Justin Coco, is an O.D., not an M.D. There are no M.D.s associated with this practice, just one O.D. and two optometrists. Dr. Hines has not been with this practice since 2017! We believe that calling the practice Hines Sight and listing Dr. Hines' bio prominently on the home page of the website is very misleading. We don't think a good doctor/patient relationship starts with misleading patients. We won't be back.
