While I think Dr. Atkinson is wonderful! He always explains every all the way through and answers all mine and my daughters questions. I always have an issue with the insurance department. Every visit it is always something. I also, do not wait the long waits. I work at a doctors office so I know there can be a wait. However, I find that the waits here are longer than it should be.

It really hard to decide how I feel about this location. The people were all very nice and professional. The location is clean. They do tell you your appointment is going to take 2 to 3 hours. The problem I have is that they do not repect the patients time. I spent a total of probably 30 minutes with staff and test and was there a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes. This is by design, they were not running behind. They messaged you about their cancelation and late policy before you get there and it's clear they want us, as patients, to respect their time. They could run more efficiently and have way less waiting room time. Not sure why they run like this, it's strange, I work in an appointment run dept in medical they can fix this!

Dr. Atkinson and his team are incredible. The level of care, thorough examinations, state of the art technology and professionalism is outstanding. They are a great team from start to finish focused on patient care the whole way through!

My experience at this place was extremely disappointing and highly unprofessional. Before scheduling my appointment, I specifically called to ask whether they accepted my insurance, Community Health Choice (STAR Plus), and I was clearly told yes, they do. On the day of my first appointment, they asked for my insurance card at the front desk, made a copy of it, and I asked again if they accepted it. Once again, I was told yes. Trusting the information they provided, I went through the appointment, had several tests done, and was told that I have cataracts. They even scheduled me for a second appointment. However, when I returned for the second visit, the same receptionist who helped me the first time informed me that my insurance did not cover the first appointment because they actually do NOT work with that insurance. I was then simply told that I now had a bill for over $700. This shows a serious lack of professionalism, responsibility, and respect for patients. It is completely unacceptable to confirm insurance coverage twice, provide services and testing, and then later try to charge the patient such a large amount because of their own mistake. I strongly encourage anyone considering this place to be very careful and verify everything in writing before receiving any services. My experience was extremely upsetting, and I feel completely misled.

This group of eye doctors is knowledgeable and professional. The assistants to the exam carefully explain how each test would work. The ability to get glasses frames is a plus.
