James Choi OD Inside Costco

I recently made an appointment with Dr. Choi for my eye exam, which I needed for my New York driver’s license renewal. As always, he was professional, thorough, and incredibly pleasant to work with. During the exam, Dr. Choi carefully reviewed the images and tests taken of my eyes and noticed what appeared to be a retinal tear. He immediately advised me to schedule an appointment with a specialist. Thanks to his diligence and attention to detail, I was seen by a retinal specialist, who confirmed that I had tears in both eyes. One of the larger tears was repaired right away, and I am scheduled to have the second one treated later this week. I am extremely grateful that Dr. Choi took the time to carefully examine my eyes and identify a serious issue that could have become much worse if left untreated. His professionalism, expertise, and genuine concern for his patients are exceptional. Had it not been for Dr. Choi’s careful examination and recommendation to seek immediate follow-up care, this condition might not have been discovered until it became much more serious. His thoroughness truly made a difference. I highly recommend Dr. Choi to anyone looking for an optometrist. He is knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated to providing outstanding patient care.

Courtney is a wonderful representative for Costco. Knowledgeable, patient and personable. I watched him interact with other customers and everyone received the same excellent service.

Shout out to Rochelle! She was able to help me repair my glasses, which needed a new glass and a readjusted frame. She helped me navigate my current warranty plan and assisted with ordering parts for my glasses. Additionally, I would like to shout out to the entire optical team. I have occasionally ruined my temples, and they have been able to adjust and fix them. Always free of charge, thank you, optical team!

Avoid. The receptionist was rude when I insisted a little about some of my insurance coverage. Dr Choi seems to have overheard a little bit of the interaction and proceeded to give me the worst eye results of my life. Dispatched me with an overly strong RX and insisted that I needed reading glasses. After a week of disorientation and awful vision, I went back to my previous eye doctor and recieved a much better RX which left me comfortable and without need for reading glasses. AVOID AVOID AVOID!
