If I could give Southland Mall a ZERO, I would. I had the most horrible experience today at Claire’s in Southland Mall in Houma, Louisiana. The cashier working behind the counter today showed what I felt was clear racist and discriminatory behavior toward me. I calmly brought her attitude and treatment toward me to her attention, and instead of addressing the situation professionally, she told me to leave the store. What made the situation even worse is that she later told security that she did NOT put me out of the store. Thankfully, I have plenty of video footage that shows exactly what happened, including how I was treated and her telling me to leave. I did absolutely nothing wrong. I want to give a HUGE 5-star rating to Southland Mall Security. They handled the situation professionally, listened to me, and helped make sure I was able to purchase my baby’s earrings. I truly appreciate how they handled the situation. As for Claire’s, this experience was unacceptable. No customer should be treated differently because of the color of their skin, and nobody should have to experience this type of treatment just to purchase something for their child. I have video footage documenting what happened, and I will be sharing my experience because racism and colorism are still real, and people need to be held accountable for how they treat others.

Man the Mall just isn’t what it used to be. Covid is over. They need to add more stores. Pretty much one section was either closed or empty. I’m glad they still have JcPenny’s, Dillard’s, Bath & Body Works, Spencer’s, Lids, Victoria Secret, Foot Locker, and Journey’s. They have a few places to get something to eat. We did find what we were looking for. I was just disappointed to see it so empty still this long after Covid!

Nice mall but many empty spaces. So sad to say that I don't expect it to be open long.

Very clean but it looks like it might be going to the big mall in the sky as many malls do, I hope they can bring it back to life
