Today was my annual vision appointment. I cannot say enough nice things about this office it impresses me every time I go. It is modern, efficient, professional and friendly. Dr Shepherd is a great doctor, besides checking on the usual areas, he will listen to any of your concerns and he has your best interest if you need further tests. His technical team member Angel did a wonderful job with all of the pretests prior to the doctor and she is very nice. The office staff are super nice with scheduling and billing. They gave me a temporary pair of shades to wear home if I needed them. I have been coming to this eye office for three plus years and I I am grateful every time I come here. Five stars!

I’m going to give 5 stars even though i didn’t get glasses. This was my first eye exam in a few years and the first in 20 that wasn’t with the army. Everyone was great, friendly, and understanding. Some issues using the Tricare I guess, but I relate that to insurance more than the office. Aside from that, the only upsetting thing was I couldn’t get glasses that day because that part was closed?! I’m not sure, but they said I could go back in a week to get them. I usually have to wait 2-4 weeks for the VA to send me glasses, ssssooooo take that as you will! FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGABLE.
First time at Killingly Eye Care, and definitely won't be the last. Everything about my experience there is 💯 percent AWSOME!!!!! The entire staff is amazing and you're treated very well. Very professional and just an amazing staff. My wife is going there next week. I can't wait to tell her about my experience. Thank you all for taking good care of my eyes.
On July 1st, I had an appointment that I did not receive a reminder text message for, resulting in my absence. I have been a patient at this eye care facility for over ten years, with my last missed appointment occurring in 2016. Since then, I have consistently attended all my appointments. However, despite not being at fault for missing my appointment in July, I am now being charged a $50 no-show fee. If I had received a reminder text message, I would have attended my appointment.
Edit: One month later: I had to be the one to call and check in to see if my glasses where finished and ready for pick up, realized it had been about 25 days since this appointment and heard zilch from the office. Asked if they were planning to call me anytime soon since they were finished and it had been an additional few days since it hit that 2-3 week quoted timeline and just got the timeframe I could go in to pick them up. Really need to work on this because great staff only gets you so far. Great staff, nice people. Doesn’t change the fact that I scheduled a 9am and didn’t get seen until 10 or leave the building until 10:30 for a simple eye exam and glasses. Even arrived 15 mins early, didn’t get back in a room waiting until almost 9:30 and then had to sit and wait until 10 for the actual doctor and didn’t leave the building until 10:30. Friendly doctor, I feel like I got a thorough exam and he explained the things i needed explaining, but i can’t get over the disrespected time. Good for the area and convenience, not good on time management and wouldn’t recommend this place unless you live close by and don’t care how long appointments take or how long you wait alone in a room. They do have a decent selection of glasses for people who only get them through insurance.
