La Mesa Vision Center Optometry

Last week Tuesday was my first visit to La Mesa Vision Care and it was extremely successful. My appointment was with Dr. Hunter Morgan. I was greatly warmly at the front desk by a young woman who took my information and let me know who would be out to see me first. I waited for about ten minutes and was asked to follow a nurse to a small room to do several eye tests. She returned me to the waiting room which was attached to their eyeglass area with lots of frame options. Dr. Morgan came out and got me and escorted me to an exam room. He went through the normal battery of tests. He asked lots of questions and was straightforward with information which I appreciated. I got my new prescription and took a look around at all of the frames. All of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend to facility and Dr. Morgan. Thank you for the attentive care!

Linda was a great help- she answered all my questions, making the process easy, and helping me navigate eyeglass selection and purchase. It was easy to make an appointment and efficient!

Dr.Turrill, was stellar with my 93-year-old mom. She took a lot of time to accommodate mom‘s special circumstances with her eyes. Likewise, Susanna that greeted us at the front desk was exceptionally personable. Mom said that she would’ve liked to be able to walk around and look at different frames for her new set of lens rather than being handed samples to try—she said that she felt rushed. Mom has had a continuum of ongoing eyecare needs.I would’ve liked to have received a copy of Dr. Turrill’s findings and prescriptions prior to leaving. I did not. That would’ve been very beneficial as a professional courtesy.

The doctors and desk staff at La Mesa Vision Center are great but I can’t give it five stars because the woman who works on the sales side, selling and fitting the eyeglasses, is so unpleasant and condescending that I didn’t buy new glasses rather than deal with her. If you need an eye exam and new prescription go here then take the prescription to Costco or anywhere else. The doctor who saw me was very patient and thorough. She listened to my specific concerns and offered several options to accommodate my needs.

First timer and scheduled an appointment. Didn’t realize it was for the wrong day 4:30 on a Thursday so I called and asked to push it one day (same time on a Friday) they said no problem and they would see me that following day. Well I show up they tell me I don’t have an appointment because they don’t schedule for that time on Fridays. She then tells me they don’t have any appointments for a week. There was no real apology or ask why I had an appointment to try to fit me in sooner. My eyes have been bothering me and there is no way I can wait an additional week to find a solution.
