Very relaxing experience. The assistant was very experienced and professional. Explained the intake process and was personable. Dr Spicer was great as always. Explained his observations during the exam, asked questions and made recommendations. The doctor made a prescription for my medication refill. Before leaving the receptionist explained they would need to see me in 4 months and helped me decided on date and time for my next visit. All very accommodating and helpful. Our family has been coming to Mann Eye Spring and Dr. Baumohl for 20+ years and love them! Now that my husband and I are crossing into the dreaded golden years, we both need cataract surgery. Medicare and private insurance have both been a booger to deal with, but D’ette Hamilton the Surgery Counselor has been an amazing help! She sat with me on madding long phone calls, guided me on next steps, sent faxes and made calls. She offered service that is professional and personal, which is rare these days. Just one more reason we will be loyal customers for life!!

I was hoping to be a candidate for LASIK, but learned of EVO ICL instead. From third grade on I wore glasses or contacts for nearsightedness. My vison had become so bad as an adult that I was deemed medically blind. I was hoping for a change so I visited Mann Eye Institute in Spring for a LASIK consultation to see if I was a candidate. Everyone was so welcoming and kind as I went through all of the different tests to evaluate my candidacy. Dr. Baumohl greeted me with a smile and kindly let me know I was not a candidate for LASIK, but he excitedly shared another lesser known procedure that I was a great candidate for called EVO ICL. The surgery counselor D’ette was so wonderful in helping to further explain the procedure and gave me additional resources to help guide my decision. She also gave me great comfort in knowing that the EVO ICL surgeon Dr. Szynkarski was the best. After research and much prayer I decided to move forward with the procedure. Dr. Szynkarski is such a kind-hearted surgeon. He walked me through the process from start to finish and allowed me to ask any questions to ensure my comfort. He was thorough in making sure that my measurements and prescription were just right. On the day of surgery, every staff member at the Humble location from entry to the nurses who prepped me for surgery were both friendly and informative. The procedure was quick and painless. I was able to walk out of surgery being able to see! I am truly grateful to the wonderful team at Mann Eye Institute and for the skillful hands of Dr. Szynkarski for giving me the gift of sight. If you are thinking about having EVO ICL surgery, do it, you won’t be disappointed!

Appreciated this office and staff, loved the musician themed art and collection! There was a little confusion for me because during the exam I specified that I wanted glasses and contact prescription with the exam. But, with the lasik consult the doctor did not fit me for contacts? Even tho with the assistant we pinned down the contacts I liked. My insurance company says I have a lotted price for both exam and contacts but Mann eye said the exam isn’t covered. My insurance company says differently.

Great service, detailed exam, and explained in language you can understand. All these so important these days when customer service can be less than perfect at most establishments. Mann Eye continues to take care of their patients.
