The whole staff at Maryland Vision Institute was very pleasant and helpful in the process of my visit. Each step was handled professionally and in a timely manner. Very pleased with Dr. Chang in his straightforward approach. Great experience all around.
Got LASIK here! My experience so far: Consultation: pleasant and smooth, I didn’t have many questions but I’m confident they would’ve been answered if I did. Great staff, didn’t catch their names. Surgery: Dr. Augustus Stern and his staff did an amazing job, both with the surgical procedure itself and with calming my (extremely overactive) nerves. I thought their reassurance went above and beyond given how routine this procedure is for the staff but how unfamiliar & frightening it was to me. Taking the extra few minutes & accommodations necessary to make me feel better was greatly appreciated. I worried that my anxiety & inability to remain completely still would lead to issues during the surgery or recovery, but this fear was unfounded. No pain during the surgery, even the “pressure” felt overstated. Couldn’t even feel the gadget holding my eye open. The whole thing was more of a visual experience than anything else, and not even a particularly distressing one. I’m a true coward and I still made it, you can too. Recovery is a non-issue so far, I haven’t had any pain and I don’t even have light sensitivity. A tiny bit of dryness in one eye while in the car and that’s it. It feels like I didn’t have surgery, except that I can see now. I hope if I keep up with my drops this will remain true. 24-hour followup: Dr. Krima Shah answered all my questions and gave me the all-clear. Not much to say about this appt but that’s just because it went so swimmingly, as is the recovery so far. All in all, I don’t think I could find something to complain about if I tried. I guess it would be nice if it was free! 😂
Outstanding, professional service. Every staff member was respectful and friendly. Dr. Stern fielded all questions in a non-rushed manner. I felt completely confident setting up surgery in his experienced hands.
Each and every staff member that I interacted with was very professional and polite. Dr Sidney Chang explained everything and answered all my questions thoughtfully and throughly. The Surgical Coordinator, Jean Rodriguez Vega, was very patient and helpful. He went above and beyond and never onced felt rushed. Every staff member was very kind. I recommend Maryland Vision Institute very highly to anyone having any concerns regarding their vision.
Everything about Maryland Vision Institute is top notch! Short wait time, pleasant and experienced staff! Our tech even repaired an arm on my glasses that wasn’t purchased there! He went above and beyond! Kudos!!! We were referred by the VA - will use them again on our own!
