Had a great experience bringing our daughter here recently. The doctors and nurses were awesome and in particular Dr. Engels may have been the single best doctor I have ever seen. Very professional and knowledgeable and patient, made sure we understood everything both as a technical and non-technical audience. However, do note that scheduling our appointment here was NOT a good experience. There is much room for improvement and communication amongst staff handling scheduling.
Five stars for the actual hospital staff. It was a lovely stay for my daughter, and they were extremely compassionate for my partner and I during an extremely traumatic time. I was blown away with how well we were treated by both day and night nurses and doctors. The hospital is extremely clean and security staff is compassionate, understanding and nice as well. Food was good, fresh and quick. However, my disappointments start after I have left the hospital. I wish I could give zero stars to the online customer service representatives, however. I have been trying for weeks now to get ahold of someone because I do not live in Richmond, but it seems impossible to have someone to answer the phone. They are not returning emails or returning phone calls, either. I wish there was a way I could express the amount of proper disappointment I have for this. I was expecting similar experiences as I received in the hospital. Sad, truly.
I cannot give this place more props! I had to take my 2 year to get her heart scanned and checked and the entire experience was amazing! They let me lay down with her and she fell right asleep during the scan! Wish I got the ladies name who did her scan but she was the sweetest and I couldn’t thank her enough. Dr. Brad McQuilken saw my daughter and told her results and he was by far the kindest doctor I have ever met. He explained things in a way I could understand so I knew exactly what was going on with my daughter. I was so nervous and he quickly put my fears to rest and I really really appreciate it. Great place for kids!
I have been going here to get my lab work done for years now and it is always a positive experience!
