Our experience at Medex Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Forest Hills was extremely disappointing and upsetting. The appointment was with Yana Ryzhakova, NP. From the moment we requested to communicate in Spanish, the way we were treated made us feel uncomfortable, disrespected, and discriminated against. Asking to communicate in the language in which a patient feels more comfortable — especially when discussing medical care — should never result in poor or dismissive treatment. The interaction became so unpleasant that we had to ask to speak with the manager. After explaining what had happened, we ultimately decided to cancel the appointment rather than continue receiving care under those circumstances. We came to this office expecting professionalism, respect, and basic compassion. Instead, we left feeling humiliated and extremely disappointed by the way the situation was handled. No patient should feel that requesting assistance in Spanish results in being treated differently. We hope management takes this complaint seriously and ensures that every patient, regardless of the language they speak, is treated with dignity and respect. Unfortunately, based on our experience today, we cannot recommend this provider.

If I could rate zero stars, I would. 0/10 would not recommend. I had an appointment scheduled for March 1st, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Transportation was arranged for me with an original pickup time of 11:30 a.m. Shortly after, the office called asking if I could move my pickup to 11:00 a.m., which I agreed to in order to accommodate them. From the beginning, they kept moving my appointment around for their personal convenience. What about my convenience? I booked 12:00 p.m. for a reason. The driver did call me, but I was in the middle of getting ready at that time. He showed up at 10:30 a.m., a full 30 minutes earlier than the agreed 11:00 pickup time, and asked if I could come outside immediately. I explained that I could not because I was still getting ready and my scheduled pickup time was 11:00. I was later told that he waited, but he ultimately left, which caused me to miss my appointment entirely. I was also informed that they had multiple cancellations that day and were trying to move everyone’s appointments earlier. Other patients canceling has absolutely nothing to do with me. It is not the patient’s responsibility to rearrange their entire day because the office had cancellations. Because of their disorganization, the doctor left early and I was unable to receive my procedure. I took time off work for this appointment and rearranged my entire day. I even offered to drive my own vehicle there just to get the procedure done, but no one was helpful or accommodating. Instead, I was simply told to reschedule. The staff was unapologetic, dismissive, and unprofessional. There was no accountability and no effort to correct the situation. This seems like a chop shop anyway. Stay away from these people. You cannot even trust that these are real doctors because the way I was handled, is not sufficient patient care. Patients deserve proper scheduling, respect for their time, and basic professionalism, none of which I experienced here.
Extremely irresponsible and unprofessional. Avoid this place. This is by far the most irresponsible medical facility I have ever visited. They show zero respect or care for their clients. My experience was terrible for several reasons: • Total lack of punctuality: Even if you have a scheduled appointment, you will not be seen on time. The queues are constant and chaotic. • Doctors are consistently late: Specifically, Dr. Ryzhakova. It is unacceptable for a medical professional to keep patients waiting so long past their appointment time. • Indifference to results: They seem completely indifferent to lab results and patient follow-up. It feels like they just don't care about your health outcomes at all. My advice: Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It is better to pay a bit more for a clinic that actually values its patients and provides a decent level of service. I strongly do not recommend this center to anyone.
Been going to this place for 13 years, not sure what's up with their billing lately, wife was charged 300, needed an itemization, they couldn't tell me what it was for and never got back to me after multiple attempts. They changed me to a different psych dr who double charged me in June, for an appointment I didn't have. Doctors are good but the communication from the office stinks.
Their service has gone way down. They never answer their phones. I had a doctor that had retired but no one informed me. When my child's pediatrician retired once again I wasn't informed then they gave me one of the rudest pediatricians Angela Glasscock who is extremely dismissive. Dr. Modi is very good and patient. Not only does she takes her time with the children she explains everything in great detail and makes sure you understand. My child broke her toe the foot doctor was great scheduling not so much....they gave me an appointment for a time after the clinic closed. In General their system lacks cohesiveness and things aren't getting. where they need to go and in the time they need to be there. I have brought stuff to the lab only to find out that they weren't open and my time had been wasted. I have to travel from Staten Island so I don't appreciate being given misinformation or no information. I only have my child there because if you find a Dr. that your child trusts and feels comfortable with as a parent you want to keep them. There are only 2 hospitals on Staten Island and they are both for profit which is concerning for me. There are many clinics and urgent care centers but all roads will lead back to one of the two hospitals. I have a better choice of hospital options with Cumberland and more services but if this haphazard service continues I will be forced to take my child somewhere else. I was a patient at Cumberland since the late 90's up until 2017. My child has been a patient since 2015. This use to be a great place to come and get quality health care but lately something is going horribly wrong and it's looking like it's on the side of administration and needs to be fixed.
