Of the 4 Memorial Eye Centers our family has received services, Memorial Eye Center is undoubtedly the place we return to every year, or as appointments are needed. The doctors are well- capacitated and are thorough in their diagnoses and explanations to patients. The staff has an honest interest to serve the clients and are polite and considerate. It is the best in West Houston!

Don’t EVER go there! Extremely unhappy with the service. The eye exam went well. The worst experience was with the glasses ordering and delivery. After more than a month back and forth and several follow ups, they could not manage my lenses edging process for glasses and finally suggested to cancel the order! I needed my glasses soon but not only they could not deliver it but also they suggested to cancel the order just because they simply could not make it! Not sure what was so complex about fitting lenses into the frame… I will never go back there again.They got my order and kept me in the dark for weeks not even bothering to call and provide updates!

I do not recommend this location. This is the second hiccup i’ve had this year. The first one was incorrect delivery of my contacts. I came in today for an emergency appt as I think I have an eye infection I’ve been dealing with all week. The person I spoke with over the phone stated I would not have to pay anything since this was a medical appt. so get there and the receptionist told me otherwise. She informed me so would not be using my vision insurance but medical instead and I would have to pay $65-$200. I made sure before scheduling if I needed to pay anything as I do not have the funds. Turns out they do not accept my health insurance. I’ve been in pain all week and now have to suffer all weekend until I can find another place to go to next week. Mind you I left work early for this appointment it was a complete inconvenience and a waste of my time.

Dr Kim-Van Chau is thorough and detail oriented with excellent communication. I feel comfortable the whole time during the examination. No dilation probably due to imaging of front and back of the eyes (perhaps new technology?). Perhaps I can drive home by myself next time! Staff is wonderful and helpful. Everything gets explained in plain English in details. Extra charges are transparent and will not be imposed without your signature. The center is clean and organized. Dr Porier detected an anomaly inside my eyeballs at an early stage. For this, I will forever be her cheerleader. Staff: If you're one of those people who're clueless about frames fitting your face, this is your place! Everyone truly goes above and beyond to fit you with the perfect glasses.
