If you are looking for physical therapy in Manhattan, I cannot recommend the team at NYU Physical Therapy on 55th Street, just off Fifth and Park, enough. I came in on my first day crying, in so much pain from surgical injuries and complications that simply walking there and even opening their glass front doors was too hard, and I have come a long way since, thanks to the care I received here. Megan, my physical therapist, is extraordinary. The pelvic floor and gastric motility work she has done with me has genuinely helped my healing, but beyond her skill, she made me feel seen, safe and cared for at a time when I needed that more than I can say. She created a space where I felt safe. Her associate Alyssa is equally lovely, and even the front desk feels like part of the team. Michelle is warm and kind (and has wonderful taste in glasses), and everyone here, right down to the person who helps me into the office, treats you with genuine kindness. You can tell when a place is built on real care rather than routine, and this is one of those places. I am grateful to all of them. I thoroughly enjoy coming and having physical therapy. Even though I know I have a lot more healing to do, I am grateful for all of their help on my healing journey. Thank you for helping me heal.

I really appreciate the specialists here and the staff. As a Non-Binary person, I am grateful that NYU Langone doesn’t gatekeep services and I can choose where to go whether it is the Women’s Center for Health or Men’s or just plain Tisch Center down in Essex. I know if it Tisch is in the name I will be cared for. And as someone with half a dozen specialists I am supposed to see every couple of months, it is nice that many are right here. One of my biggest complaints is severe pain. And the receptionists take good care of me, getting me much needed ice packs for my spine. So I don’t black out before making it home. And they kindly do their best to not misgender me which stresses me out. It is a great kindness when I hear my correct gender. Makes me so happy.
3rd floor PT is wonderful! Christine Merolla is incredible - extremely talented at what she does and with great bedside manner. I cannot recommend her more highly. In addition, Michelle and Melisa at reception and Jeff who helps assist the PTs are a pleasure to work with. They really take care of their patients and are extremely kind and helpful.
We had a fantastic experience meeting with Dr. Alexander Allen at NYU. He was patient, thorough, and explained the situation in clear, layman’s terms. He walked us through the treatment options and helped us feel confident in the next steps. Very grateful for his excellent care—hope he gets recognized for his dedication to patients!
Paid $372 out of pocket for custom orthotics which they said would be ready in 2 weeks. 4 weeks later and they won’t pick up the phone or give me a call back or respond to my messages about when it would be ready. Still haven’t received it.
