Original Eyewear

My wife and I have both been going here to see both of the Docs for 15 years or so. They currently don't take our eye insurance coverage plan, but I don't care. I am going to go there anyway. I love these people. I tend to get headaches if my contact prescription is off by just a bit. The amount of patience the Docs have shown over the years his amazing. Highly recommend this practice

I cannot express how grateful I am to (and impressed by) Dr Shelton and Dr Braun at Original Eyewear. I was visiting from out of town and had an urgent need to see an eye doctor. I called this practice on a whim, and I am so glad I did. Despite not being a patient, both Dr Shelton and Dr Braun treated me with incredible care. I first saw Dr Shelton, who explained everything clearly and made sure I felt informed during the visit. I then followed up with Dr Braun, who TRULY went above and beyond to make sure I was improving, comfortable with the treatment plan, and had a very clear idea how to continue treatment when I left town. This all happened around/on Thanksgiving, and just seeing how attentive the two Doctors were over the holiday speaks volumes about their dedication to patient care. It was a very stressful situation for me but being in the care of these two incredibly knowledgeable and kind Doctors was so reassuring. I was so impressed by them both that I am genuinely considering revisiting Original Eyewear once a year for regular checkups, despite living 200 miles away! I highly recommend Dr Shelton and Dr Braun to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled eye doctor.

Scheduled appointment ahead of time to update lenses only for me to come in office and be told to just come back next time cause no doctor meanwhile they sent out the same day reminder of the appointment schedule stating if it be canceled they will charge a fee of $50. Like make it make sense. I drove 20 min after a 12 hour shift for what? To waste gas? No communication whatsoever that it needed be rescheduled until got in their office

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Braun for years. He is the most thorough eye doctor we have ever been to! Both of us are older with some serious eye concerns and doctor leaves “no stones unturned” to monitor our conditions! His office staff is very knowledgeable and pleasant. You never feel like “a number”!!

My fathers favorite pair of glasses broke from being stepped on, so for this Father’s Day I wanted to surprise him and repair his glasses as a gift. Unfortunately after messaging most glasses shops around Syracuse, all of them said that they couldn’t help. Thankfully, original eyewear responded to my message and offered to at least see if they can do anything to fix them. I’m so glad I messaged this business because not only were they super friendly/professional, they also helped me in time to fix my dads glasses for Father’s Day. This place did the unimaginable and I’m so grateful they took the time to see if they can help repair the glasses. Highly recommend this shop and will definitely be returning if I need a new frame again.
