I have been a patient here for a few years. I recently had what I thought may be conjunctivitis. I waited 25 minutes past my appointment time before I was called back to an exam room. After the initial intake by the technician, I waited ~30 minutes before another technician popped in the room and asked me if I could wait in my car because they needed the exam room for another patient.😳 WHAT?!? I was also reprimanded for not waiting in my car when I initially got there because of possibly having conjunctivitis. I was never given these instructions when I made the appointment two days earlier. I was escorted out of the building and told to wait in my car. Approximately 30 minutes later, I received a text that they were ready to see me. They escorted me back to an exam room where I waited another 15 minutes before the doctor came in. She did a thorough enough exam, but it wasn’t conclusively conjunctivitis. And yet, despite that non-contagious diagnosis, she personally escorted me out of the building and told me to call for a 2 week follow up appointment. I am so disappointed with how this appointment was handled. I have never truly felt welcomed here by anyone except the optician. I believe there are more thorough and compassionate practices out there, and I would urge anyone reading this to look elsewhere.

I have eye med vision insurance, and I went through there site to find an ophthalmologist instead of just an optometrist because I have cataracts. I was referred to Palmetto ophthalmology. I had an appointment last year and all was well. When I showed up for my appointment this year I was told I had a balance from last year that I knew nothing about apparently there’s only one doctor in the practice that accepts my insurance, but I wasn’t told that and I saw the other Dr. also they do not file vision insurance. They only file health insurance here that is why I had a balance on my account because they didn’t file my vision insurance at the eye doctor go figure. And they don’t bother to tell you that either.
Don’t go for an eye exam. they do not file your vision insurance only your health insurance. And they don’t tell you that until you show up the next year for an appointment and find out you have a past due balance from last year that you never heard anything about until now.
Wonderful practice! Dr Shawn Iverson did both my cataracts and it went perfectly. He’s very thorough and keeps up with my eye health.
I had a great experience here, the exam was very thorough to the point that I wished I had reached out years earlier. Yes they charge my medical plan and felt it was totally worth it. Thank you 🙏
