I ended up being impressed overall, but my experience started off poorly. When I entered the store, I was greeted by a very unfriendly front desk employee who didn’t explain the check-in process and added a $39.99 charge to my copay without any explanation. When I asked about it, she couldn’t give me an answer. A supervisor (I’m assuming) stepped in and explained the charge, and I agreed to it rather than having my eyes dilated. Once I was taken back for the exam, I was given a few tests by someone who seemed unsure of what they were doing, which made me uncomfortable. After that, I waited in another room for the doctor. The doctor herself was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, took the time to explain everything clearly, and completely changed my impression of the visit. After the exam, I was helped with selecting glasses, and that experience was also great. The staff assisting with eyewear was friendly and helpful. Prices were on the higher side, but I did purchase good-quality name brand glasses and sunglasses. Overall, I’m conflicted. While the doctor and eyewear staff were impressive, the front desk experience and initial testing left a bad impression. I’m not sure if I’ll return, and I may consider trying another eye doctor or eyeglass provider in the future.
