I agree with the reviews that the doctor is great, but some of the other employees could work on there interpersonal skills. I have been going to this place for years, but had some issues recently. After receiving my newest pair of glasses, I noticed that something didn't seem right. At first I thought I just needed to get used to the adjusted prescription, but eventually realized that I was seeing the reflection of my eye because the anti-reflection that I paid nearly $100 for was not applied to my lenses. When I called about this, they (rudely) said that I needed to make a special trip in to confirm that the glasses were not anti-reflective. Once I was able to make the trip in, it took all of 2 seconds for them to see that I was telling the truth, and I was told it would take a week for new lenses to come in. After a week and a half wait, I had to make yet another special trip to come in and sit for 30 minutes while my glasses were fixed and everyone in the office said the least amount of words to me as they could and acted as if I was a nuisance.

I made an appointment but am feeling very apprehensive about keeping it because my experience with the front desk was disappointing. The person I spoke with came across as rude, rushed, and unwelcoming, which left me feeling uncomfortable about coming in. After reading similar reviews from other patients, I’m concerned this may be an ongoing issue. I believe it would be beneficial to address the front desk experience, as first impressions matter and can significantly impact patient comfort and trust. At this point, I’m considering canceling my appointment because of this experience.

I've been seeing Dr. Rosenthal for decades now and love him! His office staff are also always great and easy to work with. I'm in and out.

Dr. Charles Rosenthal is excellent—professional, knowledgeable, and very personable. I had a great experience with him. However, my experience with the front desk staff was disappointing. I felt rushed while completing my paperwork, which made the process stressful. Additionally, the staff member whose desk is located in the center of the office did not seem attentive or helpful, particularly when I had questions about my vision insurance. As someone unfamiliar with the process, I would have appreciated clearer guidance. Had I not provided a card with my employer’s name, I would have left without any information on how to locate my insurance provider. I also noticed that phone interactions came across as abrupt and unwelcoming, which impacted my overall impression of the office’s customer service. While I value the care provided by Dr. Rosenthal, I believe the administrative staff could benefit from improved professionalism and patient support.

Doctor Rosenthal is my go to optometrist since moving to Chattanooga 15 years ago. Never even considered going anywhere else from the first visit.
