Juan was super helpful! My first time being seen at Pearle and it hands down has been the best eye exam I’ve ever booked. Usually, it’s wham bam thank you ma'am, but here Juan and Eve made this experience amazing.

I had a frustrating experience and would not recommend this location based on my experience with its pricing, insurance billing, and communication. At the beginning of the year, I paid $504 for an eye exam, glasses, and what I understood would be six months of contact lenses after insurance. I agreed to purchase the glasses and six months' worth of contacts because I was told that $504 would be my total cost with the eye exam. The next day, I received a text saying I had been undercharged because my insurance benefit was supposedly only $180. I was told I would need to pay an additional $178 to receive six months of contacts or accept only three months of contacts instead. This was confusing because it did not match what I had been told when I made the purchase. I repeatedly asked for an updated or itemized receipt, or some sort of invoice with an explanation showing how the charges and insurance benefits were calculated. I was told they cannot provide me an updated invoice or itemized receipt and was told to call or come into the store. When I did call and questioned the insurance coverage and amounts, I was told they needed to ask the manager and I did not receive a clear itemized breakdown that allowed me to reconcile the amounts. I also asked via email that the claim not be submitted to my insurance and that I would pay out of pocket instead. Despite that request, the claim was submitted with my insurance. When I later reviewed my explanation of benefits, it showed that the insurance company paid the location $300.00 and listed my patient responsibility as $283.25. Those figures did not match the $180 insurance benefit I had been told about or the $504 I had paid initially during my visit. I contacted the location again and explained that the amounts on my EOB did not match the amounts I had been given. I was told again that a manager would need to review it or that I would need to come into the store for an explanation. Ultimately, I accepted three months of contacts instead of six months and received $40 cash back after disputing the amount charged for contacts. I'm not sure whether the conflicting amounts resulted from a billing error, an insurance-processing issue, or a misunderstanding, but I was never given a clear written explanation that reconciled the original receipt, the additional amount requested, and the insurance coverage that matched my EOB. The inconsistent information and difficulty obtaining an itemized explanation made the experience extremely frustrating. Based on my experience, I would not purchase glasses or contacts from this location again.
I highly recommend Pearl Vision in Norridge. Drs. Kart and Shapiro are excellent: they are thorough, professional, caring and courteous. Staff members Vivian and Juan also provide excellent customer service: they are both professional, courteous and helpful. They offer a wide range of frames, both by selection and price. I am extremely pleased with everyone and look forward to my visits.
Came into Pearl vision and today and worked with Juan. He was fantastic. Easy to work with the super knowledgeable. Was able to find glasses that worked well with my face in the style I wanted. He made the experience very easy and enjoyable.
DO NOT PURCHASE OR DO YOUR EXAMS AT THIS LOCATION. THEY DONT PROVIDE YOU INVOICES AND THEN YOU SEE YOUR EOB FROM INSURANCE AND THEY PUT CHARGES THAT YOU DONT AUTHORIZE. Do not go here to get your exam, frames or lenses. They extremely rude when you call them to provide you with an itemized invoice of what your making a deposit for. I kept on asking them for my itemized invoice the person taking care of me just kept on using a calculator and a post it and telling me how much would be my deposit. They stated I would get my invoice in my email which till this day have not received it. I called back the next morning to cancel my transaction of my entire purchase because my insurance had told me that they had only one claim for the amount of $420.93 which was my portion for the frames and lens. I explained to my insurance that they told me I would still owe them $300 they stated that was false that I didn't have any other claim in my insurance for $300. They advised me to also cancel and I was at my right to retract the visit and get my full refund. For them misleading and not providing me with my itemized receipt once I made my deposit. Not only that I paid for an extra exam and there doctor didn't even provide me with a pressure exam which all doctors do. As I review more reviews it turns out this office is known for lies and deception when it comes down to being honest to a patient. I also stated the same thing to the doctor when she stated I needed 2 pair of glasses one for far and one for my computer. I told her I didn't want the ones for the computer because they give me migraine headaches and I've tried them before. She stated that I could try them and if I want happy with the purchase I could return them with no problem. But apparently from previous reviews they do give you problems. I have submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint against them, and also with my vision insurance, and my bank. I asked them to file the claim under my Guardian insurance theybwent behind my back and filed it under my EyeMed insurance. Not only that I never was advised of a charge of $192 for custom framing. And they are still keeping my frames that I made a deposit for. And have not have the common courtesy to call me in regards to this issue. They have kept my contact prescription as well because they stated I would get a free trial so I could test the prescription to my contacts before purchasing the contacts. And it is now 4/29/26 and still have not gotten my prescription for my contacts or the trial. Supposedly they have been saying that they have called me which is damn lies cause no one has called me to discuss this mis treatment from the clinic.
