Dr. John Tatar is an exceptional eye doctor. He is incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, patient, and genuinely takes the time to listen and address every concern without ever making you feel rushed. His professionalism, kindness, and dedication to his patients are truly appreciated. His entire staff is wonderful as well—friendly, caring, professional, and very helpful. From the moment we arrive, everyone makes my mom feel welcomed and well cared for. You can tell that the whole team genuinely cares about their patients and works together to provide an excellent experience. We are very grateful for Dr. Tatar and his amazing staff and feel fortunate to have such a wonderful team caring for my mom. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience at Primary EyeCare Centers in Crystal Lake. The front desk was very nice, welcoming, and helpful. Dr. John Tatar was amazing — very thorough, informative, and professional throughout the exam. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole visit feel comfortable and well handled. Highly recommend this office and especially Dr. Tatar.

From the moment I walked in they were so welcoming. I was a bit nervous about the visit so on guard a bit. But from the front desk, the person who did the preliminary tests, then to Dr Cleland, I really felt comfortable. What I really loved- LOVED- was that at the end when I was pricing my glasses, they didn't PUSH. I wasn't ready to purchase- of course I want to research all my options- and I got no push back. THAT is so important!! I was so happy after I left, confident in my eye health.

First, I want to say that Dr. Cleland is exceptional, 5 Stars. Too bad the office is not up to her standards anymore. Nobody is returning calls and you never get a live person on the phone, only the voicemail option, that nobody seems to check for days. We've been clients for over 20 years. This office used to function like a well oiled machine, but sadly not anymore. PS: I miss Lupe.
