I made the worst decision of my life trusting my vision with Dr. Kim! I was recommended by my eye doctor of 20 years to see a specialist because of an issue with floaters in my left eye. Because of a retinal detachment that I experienced as a child, my eyes are dilated and checked every year by my doctor. So imagine my surprise when my exam with Dr. Kim for FLOATERS ended with her telling me that I had retinal tears in both eyes. Immediately following her recommendation, I let her perform a laser procedure to seal the tear. We started on my right eye, with the left eye scheduled for a few weeks following. Well a few weeks after the procedure, I noticed my vision hadn't returned to normal in my right eye, and I started to experience flashing lights. I went to her about this, and her response was that my "cataract was pretty advanced for someone my age"...... my CATARACT?!?!?! I am only 42 years old, and I have never had cataracts in my life. I requested a copy of my medical records prior to the procedure and just as I thought, it was noted that my lenses were CLEAR on both my initial visit to her office as well as my pre-op visit on the day of the laser procedure. On my last visit, she stated in my medical records, that I had cataracts in both eyes to cover herself. I went back to my normal eye doctor and she confirmed that this was false, I had a new cataract forming from the laser procedure in my right eye, and no cataract whatsoever in my left eye (which was never operated on.) Not only that, but there were no retinal tears present in the eye that was scheduled for the next laser procedure. Only the old scars from my surgery as a child. Dr. Kim saw old scar tissue, said it was a retinal tear, and performed an unnecessary procedure which resulted in a cataract forming in my right eye, and then tried to fast talk me into believing that it was something that I already had. Of course, I immediately canceled the laser procedure that was scheduled for my left eye. Here I am 4 months later and I STILL can't see correctly out of my right eye. I went in for FLOATERS and left with a cataract and I WILL be filing a formal complaint with the hospital and maybe even take legal action. I can't stress this enough, DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR!!!

I have been a patient at Retina Consultants of Texas: Pearland for 2 years. I am always greeted kindly by the front desk upon arrival. The doctors and their staff are highly skilled and I have always received exemplary care. The clinical office manager, Amber, is extraordinary! She has always been available to answer all questions I may have during my visit. If you ever find yourself in need of an eye care specialist, I would highly recommend Retina Consultants of Texas: Pearland.
