Dr's are great and so is the stafff and they deserve a 5 BUT when I have a question for my doctor and I call and get a call center who ignores what Im saying and hangs up on me puts the office in a bad light. One should be able to get a hold of a doctor or a nurse. So I tried the chat option in their app I downloaded just to be told to check back here and there and they will get to me in 24 hours, again not good.

Dr.Pierce is not my regular doctor. I have been seeing Dr Tarantola however in saying this my experience with her was very satisfying. She answered questions and was more forthcoming with information about my eyesight and treatment (the shots I receive) than Dr. Tarantola has been. I felt listened to even though the answers may not have been what I wanted to hear. At least I got an answer.
The lady Doctor that I saw today was very good !!’ I would recommend highly. The injection I get in my eye went extremely well and was quick ! I am very thankful for her skills and great personality.
From the over-packed office to the rude receptionist, Retina Specialty Institute is truly an example of the "fine" services available in the Panhandle. Prepare to wait over an hour for doctors like Dr. Tarantola, only to be seen for less than 10 minutes. Regardless of your condition or needs, you'll always receive the same treatment: "I'd like to see you back in a year." Few places deserves 0 stars but Retina Specialty Institute stands apart.
I needed a test done to qualify for Plaquenil, and the guy Mike said I would be charged $240 for this test. I was shocked but the Mike sounded very assertive that it was standard pricing, so I went ahead and made the appointment. I later called my PCP office and they said that it sounded way overpriced, and to check with other places. I found another office that would charge me only $80 for the same test, so canceled with the Retina Specialty Institute. So, if you need a test done for the Plaquenil medication, I do not advise going here unless maybe your insurance will cover it. I’m guessing that because they are a ‘specialty’ clinic, they inflate their prices on everything . Just wish they had been more upfront that I could get the same test done elsewhere at a fraction of the cost, especially since I was self pay with no insurance.
