As we all know, first impressions can be a game changer, for sure. Well Roland Optics has made a fantastic and excellent first impression with me. Allow me a moment to share how I got here first. A gentleman named John, who I serve with had some sharp blue glasses, I of course asked "where did you get those?" He said on the west side at Roland Optics, and ask for Jennifer, best place ever. H m m m ... So I rolled up on May 1st, place is huge, with plenty of parking, plus a huge selection of eyeglasses, doctors, staff. As I walked in I was greeted instantly by Stacy, just a genuine, kind joy producer. I mentioned that i was here to meet/greet Jennifer. She smiled and said "Jennifer You Have Been Requested " So we met, I provided my story, my prescription and my desire of frame styles . I shared that I have worn glasses for 60+ years, she smiled, loved that she had a mission and her smile assured me, I was in very good hands. She came back with 4-6 frames , in the ECO brand line. I have been everywhere for glasses in metro Detroit, eastside west side OptimEyes Sams See Optical Costco Pearle and so on. . . . . The quality and construction and the lightweight fit , blew me away. So I nailed it down to 2 frames, I have wore a "Ray Ban " style for 10-12 years. Jennifer's intelligence, wisdom and flair pointed me to a different shape & style. Truly out there, in a way that I have not wore before. Beyond her reasoning and rationale for a new look, she watched, measured on how well that fit my face & aligned with cheekbones, jaw lines & my goatee. She truly went beyond the generic, here try these. She had several mirror and lighting scenarios to have a real world experience. The flip mirror by the front window, allowed natural and artificial light to come in and let me sample, several looks and decide on a gradient tint (Grey-Green-Blue-Amber) Beyond her expertise , I wanted a 2nd opinion, so I snapped some photo and texted a daughter & a friend. Nailed the look, worked out pricing, benefits. I could and would afford the price point, but with Jennifer having excellent integrity, plus she spent Over 96 minutes with me, she asked my benefit provider. Davis Vision, which Roland Optics, does not participate in. (sigh) I was more than willing to pay cash out of pocket, as I loved her selection, but in her genuine care and concern for my budget, she suggested I go to a sister optical company: Weisman Optometrists . I said I cannot possibly leave her and start fresh somewhere else, after you kindly invested nearly 2 hours with me. With grace and kindness , she said "Mr. C" If you go to Weisman, your benefits will cover between $125-$147 dollars of a discount. In full disclosure, I was willing to stay & eat it, but she strongly suggested, go visit Latesha at Weisman, she will take great care of you. Jennifer H, Stacy Much gratitude, Roland may have not made a sale, but you gained a friend, loyal customer. Roland Optics, thank you for having a 5 star staff. Now I am off to Weisman Optometrists
