I have been going to Dr Penny for many years and he is so nice and professional. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else for my eye exams and eye care.

Doctor Penny is so professional so thoughtful, considerate, and explaining everything he’s doing! He is the quintessential optometrist!

Great experience and the doctor answered all our questions and was great with my 8 year old.

Drs are great however front office staff is sorely lacking in ability to complete simple requests. I had an annual eye exam in December of 2025 and since it was a diabetic preventative requested a copy of report be sent to my primary care provider so it could be entered into my chart. I not only checked with DR that noted it but also with office staff. 2 weeks later when I picked up new glasses no report had been sent so I asked again and another note was added. Now last month my medical team inquired if I had done it I was delinquent. I assured them gave them info and again contacted this location. Again I was assured it had been done I requested they copy and send by regular mail since their faxing doesn't get done. Today my medical team again contacted me and said no reports ever received so I asked that they call direct not their job to go hunting for reports that should be sent when promised. The only reason I remain here is it's next door to Supercuts and I can get hair cut after eye exam and save a trip. Not sure all this aggrevation is really worth it.

After ordering my last glasses with an online retailer, I was never satisfied with them. The experience at Shawnee optical was fast and efficient and my new glasses are perfect. Ryan was very professional and the eye scan option was a pleasant change. No more numbed eyes! I highly recommend this location!
