It’s unfortunate that I am having to write this review. After a few years of using Stanton Optical (formerly My Eye Lab before becoming Stanton Optical), I am extremely disappointed to have to find another place for my vision needs. But in all honesty, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. They truly have gone downhill in the past couple of years - and that’s coming from someone who has been a loyal customer.
In just the past three months, I chose to spend well over $1,200 at Stanton Optical in Hurst, Texas because I trusted the staff with my vision care and believed I was in good hands. Unfortunately, that trust has been completely shaken.
After receiving my glasses, I went back to an ophthalmologist that Stanton (store manager) recommended because something did not seem right with my vision. The ophthalmologist determined that the prescription was incorrect and requested that Stanton remake the lenses. While I appreciated the willingness to remake them, my frustration only grew when I returned to pick up the replacement pair.
The lenses were protruding from the frames much more than any normal lenses I have worn in the past, immediately raising concerns about whether something was still wrong. Even more concerning, the moment I put the glasses on, my vision was extremely blurry and I became dizzy and lightheaded almost instantly. At that point, I was left wondering how a second pair of glasses could leave me with the same concerns and whether adequate care had been taken to ensure the prescription was correct before handing them over to me.
After years as a loyal customer and after investing a significant amount of money with this location, this experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Vision care is not something customers should have to gamble with, and confidence in the accuracy of prescriptions and quality control should be the bare minimum expectation. Instead of leaving with improved vision, I have left feeling frustrated, inconvenienced, and no longer confident in trusting Stanton Optical with my eye care needs. I have also yet to receive my full refund which is alarming.
