I was surprised and very happy to learn that Costco reopened the Optometrist office again. I promptly made an appointment. Upon arrival, I was extremely happy with the intake process, the woman, Allison Mackowiak who was performing the intake was very accommodating and was a pleasure to interact with. The Doctor was very friendly and thorough. I was very satisfied with the experience! I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you for making my experience a pleasure.

Having worked in customer service, I can recognize the effort and personality skills that go into creating outstanding experiences for everyone, as a positive force can completely transform the workplace environment for coworkers and customers alike. I feel that people are often more likely to criticize when faced with a negative experience than compliment when provided with excellent service, however I believe the staff at this location are very deserving of all praise given. Not often would you consider an optometry practice inside of a Costco as a memorable location, but the first face you’re greeted with makes all the difference. When scheduling my second appointment to this location, I was greeted with a voice I very much recognized from my last visit, and upon my 4:30 arrival today, I was extremely pleased to see the face to match. The woman at the first desk inside of steel optical is an extremely fun, kind, and bubbly individual who transforms what otherwise would be considered an intimidating or dragging experience into something wonderfully pleasant. The positivity she brings to the environment is unparalleled to any service I’ve been provided with, and to the extent that I believe her to be a core part to my status as a repeat customer.
Terribly run business, and although they are not owned by Costco, Costco should be embarrassed to be associated with them. I called multiple times during business hours on several days trying to make an appt. No one ever picked up the phone. Then I learned you can schedule through their website, so I did that. Received an email confirmation of my appt and showed up at the scheduled time, only to be told they had no record of my appt. I showed them the email; also mentioned that I had called many times and never got an answer. Their response was that their phones AND their online scheduling system can be glitchy. The desk person then put me on the phone with the owner, who told me they could not fit me in that day and would not offer me a free or discounted exam if I had to come back another day due to their mistake. Yet he thought I was going to waste my time sitting on the phone with him to help him figure out his website’s technical issues. He never even apologized for the screwup. I scheduled an appt at Target instead and had a great experience there. Costco - If you want to preserve your reputation for great customer service, you should dissociate from this incompetent business.
I was early & I checked in. She said there were no cancellations so I needed to wait until my appointment time. I shopped at Costco & didn't realize I was late. They called to remind me. I really appreciated that. The doctor was quick & thorough. I'm very pleased.
Love Dr. Neely! Had a great experience at Steel Optical and the tech, Alyson is so upbeat and helpful. Definitely recommend for anyone needing eye care. Appointments are usually same week also.
